*** Emirates Marketing Project Vs The mighty roosters ***

Was poor for Newcastles second and obviously at fault tonight. But they are the only mistakes I recall and he's done lots of good stuff too.

Its not like we got him from Sclamhorpe either.

He doesn't look like a defender. No awareness. Him and Sessengon's insecurity translates to fear, shakey passes, and goals conceded. With a better LCB, Sess would look better as well.

we will never knew, but the Perisic shot that deflected off the back of Lewis and hit the post at 2-2 could have made such a big difference
Indeed. And, honestly, had Mahrez's shot not taken a slight deflection, the camera behind the goal showed it was going to be blocked by Hugo

Agree on Bentancur, we instantly look a weaker team without him but I think that’s a bit harsh on Bissouma. Meanwhile how peh plays every minute of every game is beyond me.

Bentacur is some player, one of those ones who always seems to be in space with time on the ball. Good passer too. Would rather it was him and Bissouma, PEH is too average for me.

Bissouma unfortunately needs work in a midfield two. But would probably still be better than PEH

Both of the first goals Lloris conceded today and against the goons was because he's too eager, too primed to rush out. Against the goons he's looking to cut out a cross so gets his body all wrong. And tonight he rushed out to punch a ball he shouldn't. Neither of those goals you can put down to being past it. Both were poor judgment.

Was the near post Mahrez shot was deflected? Seemed like it. So a LCB....get one.
I don't know how anyone can try and defend Lloris. The cross against Arsenal was literally straight at him, it's not looking to cut out a cross. He should've gone for the ball today but he should've got there.
The one on the near post has a slight deflection, he should've stopped it, his reflexs were too slow. His reflex saves were what made him a great shot stopper, if that is gone he has absolutely nothing else.

Sigh. Not a bad performance, but once again, our defense lets us down - once again, our midfield is outnumbered, and once again, Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-Min, once stalwarts, have proven liabilities.

One, maybe we can carry. Two of those, no way. Three of those, you are asking to be spanked, and we were in the end.

Conte's miraculous overperformance last year was built on a few players playing to their levels or overperforming, dragging up the useless wastes of space on our team behind them. Bentancur, Kulusevski, Son, Lloris, Kane, Romero, Dier, dragging up the crap like Sanchez, Davies, Sess et al.
  • Bentancur has been injured.
  • Kulu has been injured.
  • Son has become a useless waste of a spot, a pub player, but still keeps being played for some bizarre reason that only Conte knows.
  • Lloris - see above.
  • Romero - injured.
  • Dier - reverted to his default of being a lumbering waste of space.
  • Kane - only one performing to expectations.
A well-built system can carry a few underperformers, but Conte's 3-4-3 is not a well-built system - unless everyone is playing above par, it exposes absolutely everyone to immense amounts of pressure. Combine that with the collapse in form and it isn't hard to see why we are crumbling as miserably as this.

Is Conte to blame alone? No. In our previous window, we needed a top-class RWB and LCB and gave Conte a Champo bargain bin in Djed Spence and a cheap loan duffer in Clement Lenglet. Both of those have come back to haunt us. And we haven't learned brick, because we are two-thirds of the way through this window, and nothing has happened, as usual.

I think we're seeing the end of another manager, and it saddens me that this set of wasters in Spurs shirts will succeed in getting another one out. But truth be told, blame is shared on all sides - and this circus will go on and on and on until we get new owners.

It was erratic, reactive and shambolic play from a guy with that much experience

Not sure how Spence can haunt is when he hasn’t played
We can see how smart and brave conte is now because if he keeps on playing som and Hugo it’s all on him

It was a good performance from us. Galling to see us come out second half, and Lloris flap a limp punch on that ball. Just ceded control and momentum. The good news was we played through a press relatively well for us - something we've clearly been working on. We created plenty of good chances. Could have scored 3-4.

As said already, it has been absolutely clear since last year, our defense is shi1. We need better CBs. Romero is fine. Dier is decent. Davies and Lenglet are not good enough. Royal actually did ok. He always does ok. But he shouldn't be starting. He's an option to help close out a game or to play in meaningless cup games. I'd prefer Tangana have his spot. So sign a world class LCB and we might have a pillar to build off. I think it could change our defensive fortunes. Because we conceded so many fuking goals.

At half time we should have taken Son off for Sarr or Bissouma. Royal off for Richarlison. Gone to more of a 352 to get an extra body in the midfield. It was obvious City would come out stronger second half but we made no tactical adjustments. It’s poor from Conte.

It's not him that haunts us, the RWB we could have had in his place.

A top-class RWB instead of Emerson. But no, we got 15m 'club signing' Djed Spence. That's the haunting bit.
