I have a full beard mainly because I hate shaving - it must take longer to get one of those douchebeards right than actually just being clean shaven.

same here, mine is solely an exercise in efficiency (laziness), every few weeks get the clippers out, do my hair and the beard at the same time, same length all over, job done

They are bad, but not as bad as the patch/bumfluff style 'beards' sported by the likes of Andy Murray. Unless you have full facial coverage, there's no point letting it grow, you just look like a tramp.

take this back! some of us don't get the whole deal.. i don't get full coverage, but i get a strong 'tache and chin growth and some light stubble elsewhere..

it's the johnny depp/orlando bloom scraggly-sexy look, the chicks dig it.. and yes i do look like a johnny depp/orlando bloom hybrid. so i guess that helps

I too hate shaving and usually have a designer stubble, but I never let it grow longer than that. I'm quite lucky, even though I've got dark hair, I only have to shave 2-3 times a week.
