Dejan Kulusevski

Kulu needed minutes, he didn't look match fit and his performances were well below his best.
Doesnt matter. Adrenalin would have got him through. Gazza hadnt played in months before the Arsenal semi. Kulu could have done all the conditioning he needed in some behind doors games against our U21s.

Hmm think we need the 3 in midfield and we don’t have traditional wingers for a 442. I expect it will be Sarr/Biss/Bentacur as the 3 with Sonny and Johnson on the wings. Odobert is an interesting option but not sure he will give us the physicality or positional awareness to pressure Casimero etc, same reason I wouldn’t consider Moore from the start. Couple of seasons ago may have considered playing Sonny off Solanke, but unless that foot injury was the reason for his poor form (I say poor loosely as I think he is still near the top for key passes etc) then the lack of being a physical hindrance isn’t outweighed by his offensive output

Yeah, because games against our U21s is going to get him up to the pace needed for a game like a final against utd.

We've absolutely got to start with Richy and Tel on the wings. The two thing Utd cant cope with are physicality and pressing. And Richy and Tel have aggression and pace, whereas Son and Johnson are just hugely passive

I don't see Son starting. He's been out too long and hasn't been worth a starting place before that. Reckon we could see Richy starting again and running himself into the ground for an hour before Tel or Son coming on.

Maguire will dominate Richy tbh, he doesn’t have the pace needed. Tel is a good option and forgot about him if I am honest but we do well vs Man Utd by outnumbering their midfield and dominating there

Maguire doesn't play as FB.

Utd don't like being pressed or a physical game, so Richy is a good option for that. It's not about just dominating in midfield.

I know he doesn’t play FB, but neither does Richy stay out on the wing. I have my doubts but let’s see, out of curiosity as your suggesting Richy is out wide who are you putting in the 10?

He stays wide enough that he wouldn't be up against Maguire. Either way Maguire won't have it wasy against him, he doesn't like being pressed which Richy and Solanke are great at.

We don't play with a 10. 3 in midfield, will probably be with Bissouma sitting with Bentancur and Sarr being able to get forward.

Is it ?

Loads said the same on Sunday.

It was silly to start him after 90 on Thursday and Maddison and Berg injured.
And then after the game many many more complained we were brick and the team wasn’t good enough
Can’t win
Now one thing that woods be fair game as comment is the pitch
I’m sure I’ve heard other clubs players talk about the harness of the pitch. That evasion an issue with landing if so
We now have Maddison, Kulu and drago for memory who have damaged needs at home in what we would call moderate contact/play
I think destiny’s was similar last season bug I’m really guessing now

We need someone to track their key dangerman Bruno Fernandes and mark him out of the game.
All of our creative midfielders being out, is a sign from Ghoddle that we should play Sarr and tell him to just follow Fernandes wherever he goes and make his night miserable.

90% isn't good enough and adrenalin doesn't trump everything else, it only lasts so long.

90 minutes is all we need, not weeks of battling through.

And now instead of a 90% Kulu, we're likely having to move Bentancur out of his best position and bring in a rusty and out-of-form Sarr. Basically playing without a playmaker.

I think anyone playing v Bodø expected to start in the final should have been having minutes managed but as much as people say send out the u21s it's really not that realistic to do so - maybe there was a plan to take him off at some stage, without all the info it's hard to say and it's not like it was a muscular injury which could potentially point to bad decision regarding being in the red zone or whatever - impact injuries are pot luck really
