I believe the best keeper i have seen in our shirt was only 6ft tall. Never really bothered him at all.
Take it you are talking about Jennings. He played Gaelic up until he was 15 or 16, after that taking crosses is a lot easier.

I agree with @Bedfordspurs - seems too small for a keeper. One thing we have struggled with throughout since the Robinson years has been finding authoritative goalies willing to come off their line to claim crosses, and actually getting there in the attempt.

Gomes tried it and had the size for it, but his regular clangers meant the 'authoritative' bit was missing. Cudicini and Friedel never tried it - stayed on their lines. Hugo tried it, flapped a lot, then decided not to do it and stayed on his line, and now is trying again and flapping again because of his relatively small size + his rapidly increasing unreliability.

I would like a big bastard who is comfortable claiming crosses and dominating his box for our next GK. Ideally one good with his feet too. Shot-stopping would be a bonus, but really, I'd happily take a keeper who is just an average shot-stopper but excels at the other two aspects, because the boost given to the team by a keeper good at reducing pressure at corners/crosses and circulating the bell well would more than compensate for any lack of individual shot-stopping prowess.
Sounds like Sanchez off Brighton, probably best keeper around at dealing with crosses and decent with his feet.

Bit of a stretch, he has been competent and made some decent saves but nothing you wouldn’t expect him to save. I guess goes to show just how far our standards have fallen:D….
He hasn’t thrown it in his net or let in a shot near post
That’s a massive upgrade
But I think he has been quality
Does all the basics to a very high standard

I dream of a competent GK, been a while Since we’ve seen a keeper make saves you’d expect him to make.

Well yeah, that’s exactly what I was saying with my last sentence. But to say he was having a blinder? You’d have to be pulling at least a couple of real top draw saves for that to be the case.

I like him, not sure if he’s the one we really want though. But there are a good few options out there thankfully…..

I’d happily take Reya as our new keeper but hope we don’t have Brentford’s manager on our wish list for our Conte successor. His football is eye gougingly bad, makes Dyche’s old Burnley team seem forward thinking.

Glad I’m not the only one
Their pitch doesn’t help but it’s bypass midfield and rush the opposition

...and he can't keep his mouth shut when he's chewing his gum. Ugh.

Would be a very positive start to the summer window to get Raya sewn up, though not pinning too much hope on it yet given the apparent valuation difference
