Because what Modric did under a Harry regime is different to what Rose did under a Poch regime. As I said, you either have your culture and your ethos, or you don't. You can't say you have a culture and an ethos, and use it as part of your strategy to compete, and then not follow through when the actions require it. The culture is reinforced through action, not through words. If Rose isn't in some way punished, without us looking like we are blatantly cutting our nose off to spite our face with players that would probably want him re-integrated, then it sends the signal that what he did was ok. And maybe that is fine under previous managers. Maybe it is fine at other clubs. But it cannot be fine under this manager at this club because the reason we can compete and finish in the CL spaces is because we have a team spirit, and we are all together, and every player is bought into that.
Just like Walker, I don't think Poch is going to cast Rose out and allow him to be a distraction. He is going to be well liked and a valuable resource for players in the squad to want to draw from because they will respect his ability. But most players that are truly bought into the Poch ethos are going to think Rose was a bit of an idiot and understand that for the greater good, he needs some sort of punishment. And as long as the team are broadly winning with Davies in the side, that's probably how it will remain.
The fact that Rose is injured is a bit of a plus. If he's out for ten months he won't be expecting to come straight back in anyway. But overall I can't imagine it will ever be the same for Rose here again.
