Danny Rose

I hope we don't let him go without making him suffer a bit first. Maybe a season on the bench, missing out on the WC squad. Nothing petty or anything.

I would play Davies and this georiou kid there this season, I appreciate a well run club can not do them out of 40m but it would be nice for one club to put it to these tacos, why sign a contract for 5 years if you are not prepared to accept the terms of that contract.

Would love for him to miss out on the world cup next year, would laugh my arse off.

Wonder what receptikn rose will get on Sunday from the away fans?

Personally i think that is it for him now, he wont be here end on Jan; this window may be too late to get the £35mill we would want.

Get rid in my view, no place for interviews like that. I font mind him having thise opinions but go to your boss with them.

Not even sure he is as good as he thinks he is, same as walker; brick final ball. He is a fine player but no Roberto Carlos. Just as well for him there are not many good left backs around and the top sides arguably have players on par or better than him.

The 35m ... next

Have to question his agent. As I posted previously, this does Danny Rose no favors. Even buying clubs will lower their estimation of him because of his conduct here. And if he doesn't get a move he has to work with a club who (sadly) won't forget this. Sadly as he's just talking too much. Its like taking a fans opinion on here, Gutterboy say, and spreading over the nations best selling papers back page. Seriously need to question your agent and advisers.

More like £60m

Don't think any club would give a brick about what he said mate, in fact they are probably glad he did as it now means he is more likely to leave and less likely of having a bid rejected.

So much for life under Redknapp being the GHod he made out to be in the SUN

This is a stitch up by player and agent and I would not discount a tap up

nothing that he has said in the recent interview contradicts that above - he praised the signing of VdV, not Redknapp as a manager and hasn't said anything about Pochettino not being a great manager for young players

See Gary Neville's tweets. "WTF is Danny Rose thinking!!" Someone like Ferguson would never put up with Rose's conduct. I agree its not enough to stop you singing him if you wanted him, he's a talented player, but it doesn't paint Rose in a good light. It wasn't necessary either. "Imagine walking into the training ground having not been fit for months and months . Morning lads!!"

It was an ill advised interview and badly executed. His agent should have had a contract giving them editorial sign off in return for the exclusive, instead Rose has just spoken his mind freely and the jornos have had a field day making the most of it. Crazy in this day and age.

A) It does not take large investments to keep it going, and b) again, I think you're certainly perfectly entitled to hold that view. But it's not *objectively* more successful, is all. They achieved more than we did in an objective sense in half the time - their model took a *billion* pounds to set up, but if the objective of football is to win trophies, or if your objective metric is to build infrastructure, achieve fiscal health and generally succeed - they've done all that. The price tag is really more of a subjective matter (i.e, do you think it's justified, and so on).

If the owner goes so do the sponsorship deals that prop them up

Completely agree with you but don't think it'll put off any suitors that were interested before, in fact they would be at the front of the queue to sign him. Football clubs don't give a brick as long as they're buying the best player in that position.

A couple of other points on Rose:

The google comment is academic, as Milo says. It just isn't his job to identify who the club should spend money on. But he knows that. It's contradictory, it's wrong, it's just really bricky.

But I've just remembered the also hilarious idea that last year, it was Erik Lamela having to remind Rose that yes, this squad was good enough to win the league when they were out to dinner. A lot has sure changed in this last year. Rose wasn't the big time Charlie, 'I want to see these players that I don't have to Google' then, he was a humble kid that needed one of his team mates to tell him to believe in himself. Rose should be cringing at himself now. He isn't this guy, he just isn't.
I think this highlights a mentality issue with not just rose but English players in general, a lack of belief in themselves to go to the very top without help. A lot of them seem to need a crutch.

He said under Redknapp we had two prem players for each place and it could not be said now

Listening to The Fighting rooster podcast now, and the interview with Rose was supposedly done three weeks ago, after the City game. The Sun chose to release it yesterday.

the City game was 10 days ago...and Rose mentioned that game by saying he spoke to the players who were there when they got back to the Uk

right, so he's saying that squad wise we are weaker than when Redknapp was in charge (in terms of having strong options in reserve) - im still not seeing how that goes against what he said in the quotes you posted? he's talking about squad depth, not doing a u-turn on what he previously said regarding Redknapp
