Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

I was at the Swindon vs Leicester Wembley playoff final in 93.

Hoddle sweeping behind Calderwood, Hazard on for Moncur. Great day out for a Spurs fan, with one of my great mates who is a Swindon fan.

I would like to thank Levy for devoting his life to Spurs, and i really hope in the future (before he leaves this mortal coil) he gains universal appreciation for his efforts. Not just the stadium and training ground (which are the envy of everyone, goons will openly accept this without debate), but thank you for Jol, Redknapp, Pochettino, Ange, Lennon, Defoe, Carrick, Keane, Kanoute, Rose, Walker, Berbatov, Sandro, van der Vaart, Crouch, Dier Lloris, Kane, Vertonghen, Alderwereld, Eriksen, Dele, Dembele, Modric, Bale, van de Ven, Romero, and anyone I've forgotten to add. It's been an amazing journey.

Jeez really? You don’t sound very clever with that comment.

So levy didn’t do a bad job in aspects of his job?

Barking up the wrong tree with views like that about Levy mate. So now anyone who thinks after 25 years would be time for a change is either thick or the bad guy.

Also, thank you for being better than the goons, Liverpool, and Man U for a period, thank you for always beating the City cheats, thanks you for beating Cheatski in the league cup final, thank you for our road to the CL final, and thank you for delivering our fourth ever European trophy. All of which seemed a pipedream in the nineties.

I don't know what others have experienced but today I ran into 3 West Ham fans that I hadn't seen for a while (and one was towards the end of last season when we played them away). We talked about next week's game, and about our respective last games against Bournemouth and Forest, and the City game for us and their Cheatski and Wolves disasters. At no point did any of them mention Levy stepping down. I wonder how much the rest of the football world - fans at least - are really interested in what's happening with us?

He did a good job overall, we are in a much better place than when he took over.

The twitter narrative, from those who are thick as brick, is that almost everything he did was bad.

I’m smart enough to see nuance.

I’m also smart enough to not vandalise road furniture, which actually embarrassed the country some claim to be proud of.
How did that embarrass anyone? From what I’ve seen many other nations have applauded the recent show of patriotism.

You also assume that people are thick that alone is thick.

There are some very intelligent people who don’t agree with everything that levy did or people that have painted street furniture or put flags up.

Yeah because painting a roundabout because you are proud of your country means that you despise levy…

That’s completely relatable.

But I guess you are right your comment didn’t harm anyone as roundabouts don’t have feelings but with my comment many many many were and are harmed.

They ain’t painting roundabouts because they are proud of their country… they are painting them to “stop the boats” AKA “get rid of the foreigners” AKA “brown and black people scare me”

But if you are going to do patriotic shows of symbolism the flag should NEVER be on the floor so painting it on a roundabout is actually a disrespect… and that’s before we get in to painting it on dustbins???

Also what’s with the tinkle poor workmanship with the squiggly thin lines? If you want want to demonstrate pride in your country how about first taking pride in your “work”

Nobody intelligent painted a St George’s cross on a round about.

It’s not patriotism, it’s territorial tinkling.

If Enic suddenly decide to invest more into the club now, that would would be very unfair on Levy imo. He's done a tremendous job, but have had to work with a fairly tight budget, with little to no investment from Enic. If they change their approach now, after Levy is gone, that like stabbing him in the back.

Why wouldn’t anyone want to stop illegal entry to the UK? No one is saying to get rid of brown people like you have generally put it. Talk about using a straw man argument.

The main points from what I gather is that these illegals are economic migrants that have been given a jump start on those that currently struggle in this country. And not to allow islamism to get a grip in this country.

Not many agree with your assumption of what patriotism looks like.

Like I said you don’t know these people and it’s daft to assume that they are thick. People start movements in many different ways.

I know some of them, I’m in Essex, not far from the meathead parades on Epping high street.

It’s racism, there are two types of people there, the thick as brick ones, joining in, monkey see monkey do, and the small number of far right activists who are stirring them up, this group are not stupid, but they are clams.

Which is fair enough the far left in equal measure

And just to add in Asian in heritage and don’t think it’s just about racism, far right etc. and yes there probably are some that are jumping on the issue and trying to push their agenda. But to simply say it’s just one thing it’s simply not true.

The main issue seems to be illegal entry, playing the system, getting more than others in this country who should be taken care of first.

I’m not going to wade into the St George’s flag debate, but calling people thick because they disagree with you about Levy is pretty snobbish tbh. And there are many people who wanted him out but still acknowledge he did a lot of good work btw. But the decision making on the football side of things hasn’t been good enough on the whole for a good 5-6 years now. No one should get a life pass.

Do find it strange though that when the right do a protest the most that gets damaged is a roundabout getting painted. The left do a protest shops are looted and cars set on fire.

Thats not what I said though is it, I said those who thought he had done a bad job were thick as brick, those who refused to accept he had done anything to benefit the club.

I disagreed with Levy's actions on many things myself, but vehemently backed his overall stewardship.
