Daniel Levy - Chairman

Ginola is right... We need to be able to attract the best... And it's all about money in this new era

We're willing to pay £200k per week nowadays and ok thats not as much as Man U or City would pay but its competitive with where Liverpool top out on wages: https://www.spotrac.com/epl/liverpool-fc/payroll/

The problem is that we're in a transition after a period of low/poor investments in the team and just need to get through the next 12 months to complete that refresh of the squad. Sign another CB, midfielder and back-up CF (for example) and clear out 3-5 players and we should have a refreshed squad with a pile of potential.

Add those 3 signings in the 20-24 age range to players like Romero, Tanganga, Emerson, Gil, Skipp, Sessegnon, Sarr, Reguilon, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Rodon and we'll have the majority of squad under 25 and the chance to grow together

Its going to cost more now than say 3 years ago when we were on the up and the big four in some disarray.
great we have paratici to provide more assurance as we've gotten a reputation now for burning mangers and exploiting top players.
Kane, Son and Loris - just a bit more a few years back would have us cementing our position in top flight.
Oh well, water under the bridge now, another dawn beckons.

I have no idea why some fans even listen to the panel of so called experts on Sky, talking out of their arses on most occasions.

Agreed. I switch on at/around kick-off and turn the TV off at full-time. The rest of Sky's coverage is dreadful

It's Ginola talking about spurs not being able to attract the best talents... I would believe him as he'd be in the knowv

At the point of purchase I'd say Tanguy Romero Reggie are some of the best talents (perhaps Lo Celso too), of course they might not turn out that way, but considering we can only offer them 2nd/3rd rate European football....they still came.

And we are in a position of buying one, maybe two of that type at a time.

We can't afford the very best eg Sancho Camavinga Halaand etc their price is already too high (versus risk) and the other clubs interested are more attractive. But we are still fishing in a decent lake.

fudging annoying someone didn’t fact check Jamie Redtaco when he asserted we haven’t won a trophy under Levy’s tenure. He’s such a bitter clam, it’s so obvious he has an agenda against Levy.

You can't take any of that nonsense seriously. Ginola is taking his usual mental meander, typical for such a wildly inconsistent, over-refreshed and over-rated individual. Famously described as "one of the world's best on his day, but unfortunately his day was very infrequent." That clearly extends to his current punditry role.

Dyer is a bitter ex-Toon player who never lived up to his own lofty self opinion and clearly never fully recovered from getting hit upside the head by Toon team mate Lee Bowyer.

And Redschnapps, the Merseyside Sicknote, too gimpy to participate in one single match of Liverpool's 2001 cup treble season (no reported casualties!?), is simply grinding an axe for his dad, a grasping, underachieving Spurs manager who departed the club in a cloud of squalid ignominy.

Apart from being wrong about no trophies in Levy's tenure, he says Spurs were offered £130 million for Kane. Nonsense. It was £75 million, over time, with a player from the rejects pile thrown in.

Mate...not to be disagreeable, but... Keiron Dyer? Please. Redknapp? Talking out of his a-r-s-e; 'always sells'? Rubbish. He has a clear, clear agenda against Levy, it is so clear. Dyer saying Royal is 'miles off it' after FOUR PREMIERSHIP GAMES? Idiot. Ginola waffling on about I'm not sure what? Look, the property accumulation versus players, fine, that has been an M.O. for some time. But we have not been a 'selling club' since 2015 (only on our terms) and right now, can someone tell me who they want in terms of 'big names'? Because Kane, Son, Lloris and Ndombele are all 'big names'...I cannot think of many other than Mbappe, Modric and possibly Kante who would be big-money players that would instantly improve us. Find me a passing, playmaking CM; the truth? They might not be a 'big name' they might be a scout John. The word on Sarr is that he is outrageous! So I cannot wholly get on board with them whatsoever. Maybe I am being naive, but it is not like we have a team of donkeys!

I personally loved how Redknapp was suggesting we’re a mile away and in the same breath says what a bunch of ‘top players’ we have, insinuating we should be doing better with what we have ie either way, we’re ripe for his criticism.

John Nicholson did a great, excoriating article on him today on Football365, not specifically talking about his usual anti-Spurs bias, but still worth a read.

Once his looks go - surely the only reason he is hired, certainly not for his brains - he will be an irrelevance…

Redknapp said we should have sold Kane for the £120m we were offered…. I’m sure that city only offered £75m
But clearly Jamie knows something we don’t
Guys a bitter knob

It’s possibly the fee City were prepared to go to. Given he’s mates with Kane and how orchestrated everything was this summer, I’d be surprised if it’s completely plucked out of thin air - I know, I know, it’s Redknapp, so equally could well be gonads!

Man’s a macaron regardless. I bloody loved Roy Keane calling him out last season, that was tv gold.

i'm sure if we had sold Kane last summer that would have been his negative narrative 'you cant let go your world class players and expect.....' yada yada.

I’m not sure he is mates with Kane
But doenst mean the Kane mouth pieces won’t have spoken
Either way it’s quite well known that city don’t go that high publicly and maybe didn’t bother as they knew the price we wanted as it was shared with everyone at Charlie Kane wedding

As per the last set of consolidated accounts Liverpool's wage bill is £145m more than our own. We pay no where near the renumeration that Liverpool do. The headline figure a star player isn't that relevant when you need to think of how many players they have on similar salaries and the pro rata rate of those Ayers not quite on those figures.

I’d imagine win bonuses would be a major part of that wage disparity wouldn’t they? They must have averaged a million or so each from winning the league?
