Cristian Romero

It’s funny that up until 4-5 months ago there were all too many on here and other platforms saying that Romero wanted to leave, that he prioritised Argentina, that he was a liability. Throughout it all I supported him. I doubt very much that I was the only one, but don’t openly remember a lot of support being given to him.
Too many were acting as if they knew what Romero wanted more than the man himself did.

Now he’s our captain, now he runs through brick walls, talks out in public support even it seems when his talk might border on saying too much. He is our captain and he leads by example. He plays as if he would give his all for us. He is everywhere out there on the pitch. People will talk about his ill discipline but that’s what happens when you’re trying to put ‘fires’ out all over the pitch. It’s what happens when you won’t accept second best. We literally need a team of players that care like Romero does.

I see the links to Real Madrid. Some would say we should sell him for £87m, that’s the fee talked about, but I would never want to sell him. I want our owners to be brave and support our captain by building the team that all at Tottenham dream of. He deserves a team of the highest quality and it’s up to our owners to deliver it.
Totally Agree.
He's been my captain since he became vice captain.
He's slowly become my favourite (current) Spurs player ever since that villa game, where he put in two crunching tackles that led to us scoring.

I don't hear the negative comments (as in I choose to refuse to hear the noise).

Since Kane and Son left, Romero is the only A list player in our squad. Rival fans hate him and belittle him because he's a nasty competitive bastard on the pitch...and I love it... total respect.

Hope he stays a long time and we buy (or mould) more players around him, just like king Romero.

(Can't still believe we don't have a proper song for him... scandalous.)

Amen brother, could not agree more.

Are you being serious with these kinds of comments these days or is it a parody thing?
@Baleforce is a bit of madman but suggesting that Danso is more solid defensively than VDV isn't really that controversial an idea. VDV is a great recovery specialist but the rest of his defensive game is somewhat lacking if we are totally honest with ourselves.

Danso is I would agree better at the basics at least in terms of defending his box, 1on1 marking and especially 1on1 defending (VDV is especially poor here).
