Cristian Romero

I was going to say that a lack of pace never prevented Corluka from being a quality RB but sheer athleticism is bit more of a requirement nowadays.

Still drives me crazy that we didn't move 6'4" Corluka into RCB when Walker emerged. It was so obvious that is where he was going to spend a big chunk of his career.....and did. He was already playing there for Croatia as they had the amazing Darijo Srna at RB on his outside.

Charlie was a quality player who should have had a long Spurs career.

A relief to hear that Romero won’t be rushed straight back into the first team after just 1 day of training this time around.

Speaking to us at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim on Wednesday evening, Ange said: "Cuti and Micky van de Ven are probably the closest of the long-term injuries to come back next. It was good that Cuti trained with the team today, we didn't do too much, so he was able to join in. Hopefully over the next week to 10 days, they are both back in training."

Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference, Ange reported: "Cristian is training, yes, but he's not travelled, he's not playing - it's probably another week to 10 days for him."

So probably throw Leicester game isn't going to happen for him. Elfsborg or Brentford probably.

Really looking forward to having him back. Been sorely missed.

after the first 10 games with ange, vdv has been more important than romero.
he's not happy with management so i think he will be sold soon - levy doesn't like people talking bad about spurs so much that he appears to have every manager on a gag order as part of their contract.

I don’t know how things work where you are but in the UK It would be normal for an employment contact to stipulate that any action that could reflect badly on the company could result in disciplinary proceedings, up to termination of employment. Not unique to football as an industry and certainly not unique to Levy.

except that it looks like levy goes beyond and has the gag order extend past termination of employment. my observation only.

It would be a condition in any settlement agreement covering termination of employment. Normal practice.
Plus most managers will just move on to the next job and not feel any need to talk about their previous clubs. Nothing to do with gagging them.

Disappointing to be honest. Was really hoping we'd move him on.
I'd hope the right manager could get him playing regularly the way that he can - but then I've thought that about managers other than Ange. Maybe we need to get Scaloni in...
