Up until the 1980s Scotland produced many footballers who could match or better then England counterparts. The home international weren't stopped because they weren't competitive. A hypothetical GB side would probably have had as many Scots as English most of the time. What is staggering is the decline since then.

Why is it that English speaking people never make any effort whatsoever to pronounce names of foreigners correctly?Ironically one of the better pronunciations I've heard from someone with English/Scouse as their first language.
