How come Spurs haven't won anything in 100 years and yet we're still so goddam sexy, while Arsenal have been finishing ahead of us for years and have the reek of rotten cabbage banging off them? It's weird.

Apparently he created over 130 chances for other team mates at ajax last season in the dutch league.

The 21-year-old star is easily one of the best free-kick specialists on the planet right now - with his recent form from dead-ball situations quite frightening.

He has been banging in the goals from free-kicks during pre-season, at the start of the campaign and for the Danish national team.

So if Tottenham earn a free-kick on the edge of the box, Eriksen can be as big a, if not a greater threat, then Bale from that position.

But it is of course not just going for goal where he is superb in this respect. His delivery from corners and free-kicks from out wide is also viciously whipped in - and with the likes of Roberto Soldado, Paulinho and Etienne Capoue looking to get on the end of them, set-pieces could now become a real feather in the cap of Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Here in Denmark, there is of course a lot of talk of Eriksen in the media. Dont know if any of you are aware of it, but Eriksens transfer to Spurs is a record transfer fee for a danish player.

Todays there is an interview with his agent in one of the newspapers. It says that:

- Eriksen has signed a 5-year deal

- That Spurs have followed him since he was 16 years old

- That the directors at Spurs and Baldini are extremely ambitous and have the title as a target in the future

No douby victims fans will say they have followed him since he was 15

This coming from an Icelander, how do you rate him compared to Gylfi?

Good to see him looking good in positions towards the left, I think he'll have to take up there a few times.

They remind a lot of eachother the way the play, no doubt about that.
Should I choose one of them, it would have to be Eriksen though. He has that eye for a killer pass that Gylfi don’t have.

Eriksen is also more suited to Spurs than Siggy imo. He can play the 10er in a 4-2-3-1, but would also be comfortable with the attacking role centrally in a 4-3-3. I don’t see him as a winger though.

Siggy for me is best in the 4-3-3 system which he played in Swansea playing in the hole. As I said earlier, they are very similar. Therefore I would not be surprised if Sigurdsson was sold tomorrow. I definitely see him being available for the right money.

Eriksen, Dembele and Siggy are competing for one place in the team imo. Sandro/Capoue will have the defensive duties. And Paulinho will be one of the first names on the teams sheet. So Dembele, Eriksen and Siggy competing for one spot might see Spurs cash in on Siggy.

But lets see tomorrow.

Edgar Davids says new Spurs signing Christian Eriksen will thrive in the Premier League

Dutch legend and former Spurs midfielder Edgar Davids thinks Eriksen's best position will be at number 10

Former Tottenham midfielder Edgar Davids believes Christian Eriksen has the potential to light up the Premier League if he can play as a number 10 for Spurs this season.

Eriksen is the seventh player to arrive at White Hart Lane this summer and his purchase from Ajax has seen Tottenham’s spending this summer eclipse £100 million.

Davids, who was a Champions League winner with his hometown club during one of two spells at Ajax, believes Eriksen will flourish if allowed to play in his best position.

“I think he has to play as the number 10,” said the Barnet player-manager.

“I rate Eriksen very highly. I just hope they (Tottenham) use him in the position he knows best, because if you use him in that position it will be a lot of fun.”

Eriksen has played 37 times for Denmark and the 21-year-old has helped Ajax win the title in Holland for the past three seasons.

In 162 matches for his club, Eriksen has been involved in almost 100 goals, scoring on 33 occasions and assisting in a further 66 goals.

And Davids believes the young Danish midfielder could prove to be a shrewd addition to the Tottenham squad.

“If his potential comes out it will be a bargain,” said the former Juventus and Barcelona midfielder.

“I think he will do well - I am confident he will do well,”

“If Eriksen can do what he has been doing with Ajax, and do what he does best, he is going to be a bargain and it’s going to be a very good season for Tottenham.”

Hope AVB listens to Davids and play Erikson at his best position. As of now, Spurs's entire season relies on how fast Eriksen settles in at Spurs and how much creativity he will bring to the team.

great to see Edgars still interested in Spurs and providing support.
hope to see him coaching for us, always seemed to be an intelligent sort of guy.

Looking at that video I'm a little surprised at how rarely he tries to beat a man. More often than not he is laying the ball off with his first/second/third touch. Not complaining but I though he had more of a trick in him than that.
