No question he'll be a major target of top CL clubs this summer. When that happens players will always want to progress and Eriksen will be no different. Our only hope is that Levy puts his foot down like he did with Modric the season before he got his move to RM.

But even if he stays the best we can hope for is one more full season out of him. He's destined for the very top and realistically the chances of that being with Spurs are practically zilch.

I think we will keep this team together (the players Poch wants to keep anyways) for another year i.e. next season. Lloris, Eriksen, Verts etc... they definitely deserve CL football

It is great to have a consistent goal scoring midfielder like Eriksen now. Even more so when he can hit the target from the freekicks consistently. We used to waste those freekicks as we didn't have anyone who can take decent freekicks. Hope we can keep Eriksen long term at Spurs.

But we have to be alert to the interview from Eriksen's father about him getting frustrated about our leaky defence. It is always a problem when the players' family members try to get attention from the media. Other big teams can easily influence the family members to try to get the players they want.

Am I taking crazy pills or wasn't this discussed last page? But yes, you're right. I guess that it's a different technique used though. Corner taking requires less accuracy but more pace and to be in the right direction. Perhaps Eriksen strikes the ball too slowly and doesn't whip the delivery across effectively with the right pace.

I'm not sure we attack the ball well enough at corners for our corners to be effective.

when we were most effective at corners is when Bale attacked the near post for a glancing header, something Dier actually did in first couple of games this season.

Hard to put a "good" ball in without a consistent plan of what the attacker will do.

True & with corners providing the opportunity for a handful of goals each season, you have to wonder why it seldomly looks as if we've put any real effort in to training set pieces.

I think it was Lobanovskyi who focused largely on set pieces in his training & I think that's to be appreciated. Imagine what would happen if a side became prolific from set pieces, that could certainly make a big difference to their season. As it is, we're scoring set pieces only because Eriksen is so bloody good at scoring direct free kicks!!

No worries, I tend to click back through, but your point is one which seems to be in the mindset of many of us here. I would like another player, other than Eriksen, to practice corner taking. I like the idea that Eriksen can be on the edge of the box, waiting for the ball to be cleared/passed out to him and he then has the range to score from that distance.

Christian Eriksen has scored 16 goals in 50 league appearances for Spurs

Tottenham ace Eriksen has bagged 16 league goals his first 50 league outings, a 32 percent scoring record.

Only former Manchester United superstar Ronaldo boasts a better record, having scored a staggering 54 goals in 150 league outings by his 23rd birthday, Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet has revealed.

In comparison, Chelsea's Eden Hazard scored 17 goals in 54 appearances when he turned 23 back in January 2014, a 31.48 percent record.

Eriksen also trumps Chelsea legend Frank Lampard's 25 goals in 157 outings and former Blues winger Arjen Robben, who scored 15 times in 63 appearances before he was 23.

Eriksen joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013 for around £11million and bagged his first league goal against West Brom in December of that year.

This season the Dane has netted 11 times in league and cup competitions.

Eriksen do have an impressive goal ratio record. Afterall, with his 9 league goals, he is the top goal scoring midfielder in the league now. But he really should be assisting more goals for others. He had 8 assists last season which was good but he only has 1 assist so far this season which is very poor.

Btw, Eriksen became 23 yesterday which was his birthday.

Also rather poor against Arsenal and Liverpool. But you'll get people saying keep him in the team because we can carry him being average if it means a 90th minute goal here and there.

I like how Poch again today moved him into central midfield when we were chasing the game with West Ham sitting back.
He didnt have the greatest game but still got on the ball. Made 46 passes in the second half more than any other player and more than Kane, Soldado, Townsend and Chadli put together.

Well for a start, dare I say we drop Lamela for a couple of games as it did seem like Eriksen played really well when Lamela did not start. Yeah Lamela was good against Liverpool, but Eriksen has more updside and is more of a threat at the moment. Maybe it was just a coincidence and I'm sure Poch wants both of them to have good games regularly, but would it really kill us to give Lamela a stint on the bench for a couple of games. The only thing is, Towsend has been rubbish since he had those good games for England what seems like about 5 years ago now.

I have no problem with Eriksen starting on the left as the behind Kane need to move around and swap with positions. I want him to drift in and around Kane and drop deeper when necessary.

Eriksen and Chadli need to start most of the games IMO.

As for him going missing, I agree he does, but every other player in the squad does most of the time except for Kane. I think the comparisions with Luka Modric need to stop now, they are different players. Eriksen isn't a player who can necessarily control a game. He gets goals, but he can improve on his passing in and around the 18 yard box. I think it's good, but he has the ability to rip teams apart like Fabregas does with his incisive passing, granted he's not as good as Fabregas.

Has been pretty poor lately, can see why he was benched today. Don't know if it's a drop in form or if he's just tired, but we need him back performing soon.
