Why sell him in the first place? Who the fudge knows when Kaboul is coming back and Vertonghen is doubtful for the start of the season. It means if we sign another centre back or two they will have the learn our system, with virtually no pre season under their belts.

Kaboul played one half in the first pre season match, but its a bit worrying he hasnt featured since. Hopefully the pitch in Hong Kong was a major factor he didnt play over there.

No-ones batted an eyelid because both Holtby and Demebele aren't recovering from long term injuries. Also because we have far more cover in midfield.

I never rated Caulker as he is too error-prone. But still surprised we chose to sell him now before buying another defender to replace him. Thought we are still not fully covered in defence with Kaboul being injury-prone. Hope we will buy an established defender to strengthen the defence.
Maybe Levy and AVB still has not forgiven Caulker for that mistake against Everton which ultimately cost us the CL place. Maybe they will target Walker next for his mistake against Liverpool.

I don't quite understand this.
I would have understood it better if we sent him out on loan or if we sold Dawson, but I think Caulker has a lot of potential.
I hope we have a buyback clause in place in case we're wrong.

It's a bit sad when a home growner doesn't make it. But like with Stephen Kelly, we'll move on.
Quite surprised he has been moved on now. If the reported £9m is true then it is a good fee but I would have expected him to be kept at least another year to see how he develops. Hope we have put a nice sell on fee in the sale, 20% ish would be about right given his age/potential.
