Callum Wilson

Bournemouth was horrendous this season, so last season is probably a better reflection.

I think Jose is brutally pragmatic, add that to Levy's natural instincts and this might be a very different transfer window. We are filling holes, addressing HG quotas and balancing the squad more than a flashy name.

PEH for +3M, if we sell Foyth and buy Callum probably net 0, Aurier with replacement RB, probably same net 0, if rumour re Joe Hart is right, same.

Hopefully that means we still have something in the kitty for at least one "not so meh" buy.
I think it’s exactly that
Sort out the imbalance and get players in with a decent level of experience and hunger

Would much rather get in Ollie Watkins than Callum Wilson.

There would probably only be about £6 million of difference in the transfer fee and that would be paid back in about two or three years when considering the difference in the wages each would command.

One would assume that Watkins would also have much higher resale value.

And Watkins has played wide a lot, so wouldn't necessarily block Parrott's development.

Some scamp has edited Watkins' Wikipedia page to make him a Villa player!

If I had to choose between Watkins and Wilson, I'd go Wilson. An older player with Prem experience is much more likely to be able to change games from the bench, and fit in with the players we already have. With any young player there's a risk, and the past few seasons have shown us that we need a more solid option up front, to give Kane a rest or to come on from the bench.

I'm guessing if we move for Wilson a big part of the thinking is that he's PL proven.

Quite a few strikers can look very good in the Championship and struggle with the step up. Some take time. Getting used to PL football with the limited playing time you'd get playing primarily as a backup player can be difficult.

I think it makes sense.

It makes massive sense IMO
Could always do a loan to buy deal too as they will want the wages gone if not the player

I’m sure Bournemouth have a limit to the players they are going to sell.

think we might need to get a shifty on if we want him

I imagine they'll be looking at Solanke and King for the championship, so striker might be where they are most flexible.

But it's more tricky with Ramsdale, Brooks, Lerma, possibly Billing.

Before this train-wreck of a season, Wilson averaged 13 goals and 5 assists per 30 PL matches - pretty decent record for a team like Bournemouth. Get him in!

If Parrott plays well this season at Millwall, then we may (please please please) only need a forward of Wilson's level rather than having to aim even higher and pay more right now.

Does well in the PL
Home grown
Won't expect to play every week

That's our MO for this window.
Good squad building.

Wages of £100k/week in the Championship is not an appealing prospect for Bournemouth to keep paying.
We might be able to offer him a similar wage to that once the extras and bonuses are factored in for him
