For me, Johnson is a good example of a player who would benefit massively from a great playmaker. And by great, I mean better than Madisson. He doesn't create all that on his own, but has a knack for being in the right spot and has decent pace. An anti-Pav, and even anti-Richy, so to speak. He seemingly has good overview and awareness, but he's not overly creative and is let down by his on-ball skills. With a more tactical approach to flank play rather than fire-and-forget, I think he will be fine. If we put him in a Bale or Lennon role, which I cannot see him remotely suited to, he will be on and rather more off.
