I've never actually seen him play. I know he came in and went out on loan straight away and hasn't been anywhere near the first team. IS he that bad?

If he can't dislodge even one of the steaming pile of turds that constitute our CB pairing then yes he must be really bad.
 
I've heard from within the club from my sauces that playing him would simply make it unfair, and that we would win everything too easily putting our great club at fault for ruining football.

Last I heard, he was struggling to get in the Doncaster first team.

I'm sure we only signed him because of that World Cup goal against France and the hope of shifting a few t-shirts in Africa.

He's definitely in there with Mabizela and Toda as marketing department signings

He really does sum up how badly our scouting infrastructure was neglected through that period between DoFs. Signing random players because of 1 WC performance and potential shirt sale revenues. Mind you, that does also describe Yedlin, so perhaps we've not learned lessons.

clearly a commercial deal to boost our name in South Africa
 
He's no Mabizela.

We have trying the SA thing for a while whilst others tapped up Asia.
We made the move for SA but it turned out not to boom quite as expected pre and post WC. We do seem to have a good foothold in the US though, which is a big market and will keep growing
