I see no problem with signing Berbatov, using him for as long as he is useful for the club and then dumping him like he dumped us and go for someone long term in the summer.

I see this as a revenge **** on an ex-gf who i still find physically attractive but have absolutely no desire to have a relationship with again.

The SS news are reporting the Mitroglo's agent is at Motspur Park (Fulham's training ground). It looks likely this deal will happen opening the door for Berbatov's exit you would think.

From The Mirrors Live Transfer News Blog;

Spurs could miss out on one of their chief deadline day targets.

Rumours are circling that moneybags Monaco have hijacked their move for Dimitar Berbatov.

The Daily Mail report the enigmatic Bulgarian is set to snub a switch back to White Hart Lane in favour of some sun in the principality.

It was thought that if, or when, Greek hotshot Kostas Mitroglou is confirmed as a Fulham player later today, the Cottagers would OK the 33-year-old to leave Craven Cottage.

But the Ligue 1 club seemed to have jumped in at the eleventh hour, leaving Spurs boss Tim Sherwood short of striking cover.

You could really see Berbatov living it large in Moncao.

one would assume that he was gonna be an additional anyway, having done the defoe deal we obviously have one other target lined up anyway...... don't we.....
Penfold have another player lined up no way reduce the wage bill all about the profit at the end of the day !! Clubs going backwards at the moment

It doesn't seem as though the club wanted Berbatov back - otherwise I'm sure we could've made it a condition of loaning Holtby to them.

Tottenham transfer news and rumours: Napoli's Goran Pandev to arrive in Etienne Capoue swap deal?

Etienne Capoue's agent has blasted Spurs for the "absurd" asking price they're putting on his head.

The Frenchman was only signed in the summer but has failed to settle and is set for a move away.

That is, if Spurs lower the reported £12m price tag.

"The problem is not the player or Napoli – Tottenham just want a lot of money," said Martha Fischer.

"What they’re asking for is absurd. But we are only on January 21, and there is still hope."

Napoli are keen on the 25-year-old but are unwilling to go to Spurs' figure preferring to do a deal around £7m.

An intriguing twist in the Capoue transfer saga could be Goran Pandev's situation with the Naples club.

Tutto Mercato Web suggest that the Macedonian could be used as a makeweight in the deal.

Despite only netting 6 goals last term they say he is creeping back to somewhere near his best form.

Spurs are in need of another striker, with the MLS-bound Jermain Defoe set to cross the pond at the end of February.

And a player-plus-cash offer may soften their stance on Capoue to boot.

A new name in the gossip columns this morning is Juventus' Claudio Marchisio.

The Italian is reportedly still a target of Manchester United, but The Times suggest Tottenham could be in the race for his signature.

Rated at £25m he won't come cheap but if the club can shift some of the wages off their bloated wage bill money could be available.

Capoue, as well as Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli have all been mooted to be on their way and could provide Sherwood with the funds he needs.

Midfield could be an areas targeted for reinforcement this month.

According to reports Spurs are keen on Porto midfielder Steven Defour.

The Belgian is reportedly eager to move away and get some game time ahead of the World Cup, with Aston Villa and Fulham also interested.
