I think it was really telling that Spence had been benched whilst Udogie recovers, and it was Davies that was playing. I could absolutely see why Ben was selected for that game. I really feel for the guy.
The other issue is that Spence hasn't got the reminder he absolutely needed to up his game. We needed Ben to be fit for a period and see if we could get a positive reaction out of Spence who needs to get the bit between his teeth again. In my opinion, he's one of the problems Frank has right now.

Spense gives me the feeling he thinks he is better then he really is, i remember reading about him earlier in his career and his attitude. Not changed much as far as i can see.

I think the idea was for Udogie to come on for Davies at some point in the second half and for Spence to cover Porro at right back. The earlyish injury to Davies scuppered that. I thought they might take off Porro and move Spence across but then I remembered that the only move Frank has to create chances for Spurs is Porro swinging in crosses.

I also think Porro putting in crosses is being seen as a massive negative. In reality it should be a massive positive and a stepping stone to then adding other forms of attacking tactics. Also importantly, it could be a template for how our left side should operate. Get good full-back crosses coming in from bother side makes us a different proposition. Back to my original point why Davies got the nod. Historically, not the best crosser to be fair but is at least a leftie.
I have a feeling when we do eventually see Spence at RB we may see him passing up the opportunity to cross and overplaying. The guy has so much talent but he's not putting the entire package together just yet. I'd love to see him way more tenacious as well.
