Gareth Bale, Gareth Bale...
YOUUU were born to play for Spurs (again)

It would be incredible if we signed him and, as others have said, it will send out a strong signal to our rivals...
They used to say, for those old enough, that people remembered where they were when they heard that JFK had been shot..
I was on holiday in Kos in 1988 when I got a newspaper that said we had signed Gazza..
In 1994 I had just walked into an office at work and heard on the 4pm news that we had signed Klinnsman..
If we were able to re-sign Gareth it would definitely be one of those moments..
COYS.
Imagine if we announce this via the new TVs in the stadium shortly. Would be a massive buzz and big message to City, United etc that we mean business and are ready to kick off a new era at the new stadium.
I would literally go and suck Levy off for free whenever he wanted (not sure if he would though).
Who knows what will happen...
I am not sure I would even want Bale to be honest
Fracking hell! The only message that would trouble City is if Spurs found 2bn barrels of crude oil in N17 under the new ground.
Have you ever bumped into one of your exes at a party? She's the one that got away a few years ago and is looking great*. She's now going out with some rich city clown shoe who drives a white Audi, but things aren't going too well. You have a lovely chat, a bit of a flirt. Your eyes keep meeting across the room.Bale was great, loved him.
We have all now moved on.
I always say never go back.

I remember the Klinsmann signing , from the back of the daily mail I think. Sugar on a yacht with Klinsmann wasnt it? I would have been 11 and doing a paperound (illegally) and seen it on someone elses paper before I delivered it. What a moment.Gareth Bale, Gareth Bale...

But nothing happens. You go home with a massive feeling of what-if and toss off to the thought of her riding you like a cowgirl...
But I digress. Hypothetically speaking, of course. Nothing happens, the ex goes back to the clown shoe banker, you find out a bit later that she's dumped him for one of your old workmates who, apparently, she'd been emailing for the last couple of years. Live goes on.
* Albeit with a man-bun and an intermittent limp.
I disagree my friend. Whoever signs Bale, the other teams should be thinking "fcuk, they've got a World Class player there". I think Bale alone, would be a massive statement from us and would move us from being happy with top 4 to actually wanting to go out and win the league. Kane and Bale in the same team? Fcuk yeh that's scary. Probably 25 (Kane) and 20 (Bale) goals there alone in the league. I say 25 for Kane as I think signing Bale would take some goals off of Kane but just hypothetical of course.Bale is not going to happen. Real will want minimum £90-100m for him. Plus I don't think signing Bale would be a statement. A statement would be signing Bale, Kante, and Dybala. Just signing Bale? Not so much.
I'd see it as akin to Hoddle bringing Sheringham back. Fond memories, but you don't want to see the dashing heroes of your youth in decline. The Rolling Stones since the 80s.

It would change the dynamics I think as you've basically got two out and out goalscorers that are quite selfish. We all know Kane likes to shoot but he does also assist when needed but mostly shoots when he wants to. That gets us a lot of goals. Bale would take some of that away from Kane. I guess it is a bit like having Ronaldo and Bale in the same team. Did that work? I think so. I'm with you though, back and forth a bit now. This is something Ive been thinking about, and I do flip flop on it a bit.
Would Bale work well in our team and system? Or would he not fit? Or would his presence change the focus of it? Would it effect someone like Kane or Alli adversely?
As I said, I kind of go back and forth on it.
