AVB Press Conference

Could just be a case of negotiations for Lloris being far more sensitive / uncertain / in the balance than the negotiations for Adebayor and Moutinho.

im not sure about that, the Moutinho deal would be a massive one, with lots of side issues (potentially other bigger clubs gazumping us being one, unclear ownership rights being another) so if there was a deal to keep quiet about then this would definitely be one

we shall see i guess

Unless one of the reasons moutinho wants to come is that it is AVB.

We don't know. But, if itk's are to be believed at all, Moutinho is very keen to sign for Spurs. So AVB might have a more than reasonable expectation that it will happen. Lloris, on the other hand, initially expressed a desire only to leave Lyon for one of the top five clubs in Europe. So he might require far more by way of persuasion to lower his sights to Spurs. Consequently, it could simply be the case that AVB is being more circumspect when discussing the potential signing of Lloris.

It would be the biggest difference imv, since I doubt we could match or better Utd's offerings

There is no evidence that Utd are even interested. I believe there was an article recently which suggested that they had other targets.

yep, i can understand that

i still think we will sign Butland though:)

this is a bit of what has been reported

Villas-Boas appeared to play down speculation that he wants a new goalkeeper to replace Brad Friedel, 41, but confirmed his interest in signing Emmanuel Adebayor and admitted that Moutinho is also a target.
He added: "He was one of the most important players in Euro 2012, he had a fantastic tournament and he's an important player for Porto. It doesn't mean he is the only target but he's someone we look on with interest.
"Adebayor is another player who was important for last season and it will be a lie if I say we are not looking for a striker. Ade is part of that list."

Hahahahahahahahhahahahhahahha.......

Durham just said West Ham should go for Harry, and if they get him, they will finish above us with AVB.

Hahahahahahahahah!

He said 'he's an interesting player', nothing more (possibly the equivalent of Arry's 'he's a triffic player')

Did I miss the rest?

Can't remember his exact words but the impression I got was that it was rather than Moutinho simply being an interesting player.

Yeah of course I would, no problems there.

It's not a tactic. It's a player type. Just like having an anchorman or a deep lying midfielder, etc etc. Would you be saying that a tactic that works with width doesn't need pacey wingers? Why is a goalkeeper position excempt from needing the right type of player?

because a goalkeepers responsibility is an 18 yard box. A right winger or any outfield player for that matter is free to move around a giant sized football pitch (including the 18 yard box may i add) so naturally they're going to have more freedom and given more in depth instructions by the manager. As i said before, i think a mangers instruction to a "sweeper keeper" is "come of your line and distribute the ball quickly" that's it.

I think you're just trying to convince yourself it is on.
