Was thinking the same. I think he was very aware that Mikey was ahead of him in this one. I don't think he was too prepared to overcommit going forward but kept things tight and simple on his side. This could also be the reason why Robbo was more suspect. As the elder statesman he probably felt more responsibility to take the game to Brentford down his side.

I didn’t think there was any credit there. He wasn’t terrible like some, or should I say many, were. However, I don’t think there was any credit there. Tel was our only starting player that I felt deserved any credit yesterday.

I think you two are a bit bonkers. He got dominated by Potter constantly and he had nothing for Schade either. Can't say that performance gives me any hope for him as a RB, he was terrible.

I don't think right back would be a position I'd choose for him. It would be a waste. But first half I thought he did ok in a poor half for the team.
But for me he could definitely be fighting for a place in the pivot in front of defence. As I say of all our young prospects I think he is most likely to achieve a high ceiling.

Opinions are interesting I wouldn't say Tel did anything of note either half. That's not to say he can't, just don't think he did anything yesterday.
He didn't, he was just as poor as the rest of them.

Im sick and tired of seeing him play full back. He is not a defender. he seriously cannot be the cover for Porro all season. Surely one of the many Center backs we have can do a job as cover for RB. Gray needs to start playing consistently in his preffered position so he can advance as a player.

He's not gonna get many starts in midfield with Fernandes ahead of him and Bentancur being RDZ go to sub. It's interesting many think he's gonna be a captain long term but it's questionable if he will ever get that many games with Fernandes only being a couple of years older but significantly more developed.

Tend to agree with this, he has ability but to get the best out of him he needs the space to use his ability and i fail to see that at fullback.

It isn't a case of "felt more responsibility", it is more that RDZ set us up with a specific gameplan where Gallagher comes deep into the left back slot to receive from Senesi, freeing up Robbo to go right up the wing and interplay with Tel.

Then those tactics completely failed. Gallagher was never covering left duties in that match. I saw more of Bergvall in the left inside channel than Gallagher. However, I also saw Bergval more on the inside right channel as well. Ironically, he almost cost us a couple of 1st half goals overplaying in that inverted full-back area.
It's gonna be interesting to see how the full-back thing evolves. Fundamentally, I think you're right in that our left backs will be getting higher up than our right backs though.
Our young prospects include Fernandes who is only a year and a half older than Gray.
Do you think Fernandes could achieve a high ceiling too?

One of my reasons for wanting us to move Bergvall on is to get Gray into his preferred midfield role.
I thought he was excellent at times for us last season in midfield. His ceiling may not quite be as high as Bergvall’s but his floor is significantly higher.
