That scenario is just a reflection of our squad.
ftfy, imo
That scenario is just a reflection of our squad.
We (or rather circumstances) broke Poch. We didn't break Mourinho and we won't break Conte.
This isn't about ENIC (or only indirectly), my point was about how a world class manager should be conducting himself in his job and in front of the media. If he decides to walk out part way through the season, especially after a January window that dealt with at least a few of his issues, then that reflects badly on him. If he's just venting and musing off-the-cuff, then maybe our PR people need to have a word. He said during the week he can speak to Levy any time he wants, he doesn't need to do it through the media. His job is to work with what he has now, as poor as it may or may not be, whilst planning for the summer, show some of his managerial acumen, and get us to the highest league position possible.
If Conte has such a frail mind/ego that he cannot cope with a loss at Turf Moor on a cold wednesday in february, he should take up knitting or raising bunnys, not be a football manager. On saturday he was on top of the world, a brilliant manager with brilliant players, and now he is a misunderstood genious with blunt tools?
Get a grip, seek medical help, or just grow a pair, will you!
The good Tony was just as culpable for the loss yesterday as the players. He set up the team, he made the changes as the game progressed, and he failed to find the key to break down Burnley.
Sure, the weather was awful, sure we played a tough match on saturday. But still it is his responsibility.
If he now starts to throw players he hails in the weekend under the bus in the midweek he is no more than a Jose Mourinho mark II. Same brick, different hairplugs.
Mourinho got a job within a week after being "sacked". I would not be surprised if Conte did the same. Man U would be perfect for him
Sounds like a threat to the board to me.Conte needs to go full Tonto not start sounding like a man/wimp delivering his resignation.
Bored of reading Levy has to back Conte. Yes we would all like the club to invest more, but its plain wrong the way Conte can just keep up these rants every time we lose a game and people use it to go in on Levy. The sound bites he is creating are ridiculous, he acknowledges this is going to be a long term fix so why does he have to come out with this after every defeat? I’m not having this ‘he’s just so emotional’ excuse -as a football manager there’s a way you have to conduct yourself in front of the media. The way he is behaving is not endearing and Is not helpful for anyone at the club or club in general….
can you hold shape and take a throw in?
he's not had half a season yet, that was what, his 18th game, our problems are big, they've been there for years, its all about time
I think he wants to make some high profile sales in the summer, and he's laying the groundwork for that
on Royal, yes we want more going forward, but he's the best defender we've had in that position for ages, that's not for nothing
Like I said, find a way. Eg. If Royal is a decent defender (I actually think he’s ok) then go to a 4.
Royal
Romero
Dier
Reggie
Skipp in front to protect.
Play the system thats gets the best out of the current players. Then once you get the players you want, slowly adapt. That’s management.
What excuses has he made?
Whats wrong with throwing players under the bus? Happens at work in real life all the time. And we get paid less too. Most of his comments are self preservation and making him look good.
“We don’t have the quality”
“I’m used to fighting for the big prizes”
“I never lost 4 in 5 before”
“On paper, the squad is weaker than before the transfer window”
“This club changes the coach but the players and results stay the same”
etc etc
It’s exactly like Mourinho. He’s throwing players under the bus and taking little responsibility himself.
I know having a go at players in public will please a lot of the fan base but it’s just gratuitous grandstanding. It does no good. His job is not to tell the whole truth in public, it’s to get the best results for Tottenham. And expecting players, no matter how limited, to perform at their best when their manager is slagging them off in public is not the best way to get results. If he has something like that to say, he should say it in private.
I’ve slept on it but he’s starting to tinkle me off a bit with his public utterances. He’s had 3 months and has spoken about this being a long term job. That’s exactly what it is so he should just get on with it and stop trying to make himself look as good as possible in the press at the club’s expense.

So a guy in the job five months should the rap for players that underperformed for five years?
If the players had the same attitude to losing as he had we wouldn't be in this position.
Alan Hutton, alan fudging Hutton has more winners medals at Tottenham than hugo, son and kane combined
More than Dembele and eriksen and yet some fans would take them back or cry tears that we sold them to early.
How many managers do we bin off before the obvious becomes apparent.
