Antonin Kinsky

Agree on the overly-critical analysis of Vic (I think he is an excellent shot stopper) but as a former CB having a calm keeper behind you does help a lot mentally.
Vic is much better at shot stopping
I don’t think there is better keeper in the league at that
But it’s the bigger picture even over a small run of games left that matters
Kinky has not been an issue in any of the ones since he came back in and has done everything we could ask for

I disagree. Vicario is not the best shot stopper. It’s his best attribute but he’s not the best.

I think Donnarumma is a better shot stopper and won City key points earlier in the season.

Vicario makes errors like he did for the Szloboszlai goal. He’s inconsistent and has too many weaknesses elsewhere.

Kinsky has impressed in last few matches and deserves to keep his place.

Agree. If you could combine the two of them you would just about have the perfect keeper.

It’s opinions.
And Vic and won is key points too but they always get forgotten (Everton away would be an obvious one). Kinky made that save at the end yesterday to keep us with 3 points rather than 1 which could be huge too
Donnarunna has the same issues that Vic does imo
Maybe it’s an Italian keeper thing because of how they are coached

You can’t teach a keeper to pass like Kinky at vicarios age unfortunately
And kinky needs experience to develop
He reminds me of courtois at a similar age who was also a poor keeper at shots form distance

But you can’t teach Kinsky to physically develop a wider frame as Vicario has too. They both have advantages and disadvantages over each other.

Ok think kinky is fine physically
Just needs to deal with shots from moderate distance and his game steps up 10% straight away
What I’ve loved in his last two games has been his movement off the line
Yesterday he came and punched that ball on the edge of the area brilliantly

Donnarumma is the best keeper on the planet, by a country mile.

They are not issues, they are things keepers have no place doing.

Was a keeper myself that played to a reasonable standard. Kinsky is honestly better than Vicario. Beyond the glaringly obvious issues with distribution and corners, Kinsky is also a better shot stopper purely out of technique and positioning. Vicario is the better athlete so on occasion he will make a wonder save. But often he also makes simple saves look spectacular as well through a combination of athleticism and the poor positioning making it look a harder save to make.

There is no way in the world that Kinksy is a better shot stopper than Vicario. It’s not even close.

Close range reaction saves? Sure, general shot stopping? Noooo. His positioning on shots from distance has been very poor this season, he doesn't anticipate well and has been caught out from from rather consistently and that's a part of shot stopping, as big a part as the closer reaction stops which he is admittedly brilliant at.

The great keepers though aren't overly stretching to reach all balls, they have just already positioned themselves correctly in the first place and that's something Vic is quite weak on.weve seen enough from him to see his weaknesses are a problem and at this point he takes away as much as he's contributing. Not blaming Vic at all but I do think if we'd had Kelleher this season, we'd have a few more points at this stage.

Last season and the one before he had the highest points gained from saves of any keeper
This season… no chance and it’s time to move on
I really like Kelleher

weak on crosses too

I cannot think of any keeper who looks good a crosses, it would be difficult for any keeper in the history of the game to excel at corners due to the systematic foul play endorsed by officals but few appear to have any confidence in claiming all but the simplist of crosses.
Vicario frequently parries shots back into dangerous areas, I assume the technological balls used now react differently than the older ones.
