It appears to me as though some of our fans would rather we lost the Europa League final so that they can say "I told you Ange is brick and we should've got rid of him". I find that really weird.

I absolutely hated the charlatan that was AVB and was delighted when he was sacked and yet I still wanted us to win every single game under him and would've loved us to have won the Europa under him.

Who gives a brick about Villa? How do they have any relation to what's happened this season?

And yes...I know that's why people are scared. People like you that absolutely loathe him on a personal level are doing everything possible to downplay the [potential] achievement.
Is Juande Ramos the best manager we've had in the last 25 years?

Calm down, who said I care about Villa? It's a comparison with a team who have gone deep in competitions but their league form hasn't suffered.

I dont loathe Ange, I just think he is a brick football manager.

Your defense of him is also laughable, to the point I'm thinking you must be his agent or family member.

How you can defend relegation form and awful football is beyond me.

Not for me it won't. As an outsider I don't look at West Ham winning a European Cup while being irrelevant in the league or Wigan winning a cup while being relegated as great seasons for them.

I think it will be our greatest result (singular) in 25-30 years, granted.
I have a few mates who are Wigan fans. They all cherish that FA Cup win and will remember the day and subsequent celebrations for the rest of their lives. Not a single one of them would swap winning that game for not doing so but remaining in the premier league.

I want to win the Europa. But let's be clear, we were favourites with pretty much every bookies to win Europa beginning of the season. That reflects the quality in the competition and what we've had to do to reach the final. And while it is still an achievement on behalf of the players, the evidence over the course of the entire season is that if we win it, will be despite Ange not because of him.

How about if we win the Europa and got relegated, would you still say the same?

Even if we win the Europa, for me this has been one of the worst seasons since I've been following the club (40+ years).

I get not everyone will agree but 1 cup win will not make up for 18 months of pure brick.

My son is Spurs mad and he has said he doesn't want to go to the last 2 games of the season and he is bored of watching us. He hasn't missed a game in 6 years.
We're not getting relegated. Relegation was pretty much impossible after we beat Brentford and Man Utd. To me it has been obvious that since those wins all but guaranteed our safety, any hope of a midtable league finish was sacrificed to give the best possible chance to win the Europa League.

1 cup win will more than make up for 18 months of pure brick. We've won only one trophy in the whole of ENIC's 25 year tenure at the club. This will double their trophy haul and win us a genuinely prestigious competition that every team who enters is desperate to win.

That's a fair point but in context relegation was a distinct possibility anyway and certainly not a disaster for the club.

Nope. It will be because of him. He has clearly sacrificed the league for the cup.

Where's the evidence of that? It absolutely won't be because of him. We've been sh*t in the league since the first 10 games of his first season, we've actually been sh*t in most of the cup games this season. Including some horrific performances in the Europa (luckily mostly involving pony opponents)

More than make up for 18 months of brick? Seriously?

If someone had offered me this scenario 2 years ago, I would've declined. I don't enjoy watching us anymore, I don't enjoy matchdays at the stadium anymore, I don't enjoy the direction we are going in and a cup win won't make up for that for me.

Not to say I won't enjoy seeing us win it, of course I will and I'm praying we do.

Really weird that you don't look at Wigan winning the FA Cup as being a great season for them. Their fans consider it more than just a great season, they consider it miraculous.

THFC winning the Europa League would be a great season for Spurs. We've won only one trophy in ENICs 25 year stint at the club and not won a European trophy for 41 years! I find it incredulous that anyone could think Spurs winning the Europa doesn't constitute that being a great season for us.

Where's the evidence of the reverse? We got a whole heap of injuries this season and then once we started to get our players back, we ensured safety and then clearly prioritised the Europa League (and rightly so IMO). Who gives a fudge whether we finish 9th or 17th we have a potential trophy to win!

He probably had the best season (perhaps second best to the Pochettino one where we reached the CL final). Football is about winning trophies. Very few managers have achieved that at Spurs.
It's actually about winning games. As in when you play a football match, the aim is to win the match. "The game is about glory, it's about going out and beating the other lot..." he didn't say "its about going out and being given a silver cup because you beat a few pony European teams and the worst Man Utd team in about 40 years...

It's a great result from a horrendous season. You're looking at things as too black and white. Also, I have significant doubts over our ability to beat United. They are improving. They trashed a very decent Bilbao team. Yeah the aggregate score flattered them, but I make them favourites.
