Yet you want to get rid of a manager who’s maybe half way through developing his squad and play.
I’ve said twice on here today that I still want him to stay (although his approach is giving increasing causes for concern). I also said that the manager is to some degree irrelevant while we have the current ownership model.

As for bringing ‘oodles of trophies for City’, we’re not City. Our owners don’t buy at their level.

Celtic did
That’s how he ended up there
Not sure where your going now
if he was such an in demand coach he would have been in Europe way before he was and at a bigger club than Celtic.

Clubs wouldn't have suddenly just heard of him after he had a couple of years in Scotland.

"quite a lot" has no proof other than a link to Brightons short list

Ange in. I think it's pointless sacking him unless there is a clear idea of who is replacing him and what they can do better with the same resources.

Despite being Ange in I don't think he has a get out of jail free card. I do need to see progression and adaptation otherwise he will lose my support because for all talking of giving Arteta time or the time it took Klopp to achieve at Liverpool there is no guarantee that just giving someone time will eventually lead to success.

Ange actually needs to use this time he's getting productively and that might just mean adapting his approach to maximise what he has currently. Understanding the limitations of the players he has and having a recruitment plan that fills the gaps of obvious holes and improves the player quality available.

I'm a bit concerned he's seems happy enough with some of the mediocre players he's signed and that's never going to work with the system he's trying to play.

As bad as it's been in a lot of games it's got to be IN just. We chop and change and end up back where we are every 18 months. Win the EL and qualify for CL and stay up this season.

My biggest gripe with him. All well and good having principles and wanting to stick to them, but sometimes you have to adapt, and he seems very very reluctant to do so

Agreed. You can't just play your game at all costs when it's clearly not working in a game. The best coaches are the ones that are able to mix it up and be flexible as well as pragmatic. I believe you can be all of those with a main philosophy of wanting to be an attacking team.

Really
Ok
I mean after our start last year there were fans on here saying that they thought be would leave us for a bigger side … after 10 games
He had several jobs too before and after Japan
What I’ll say is we can do what lots of clubs do and employ the journeymen because they had a. Good season once or kept a team up
Or we can be forward thinking and do something different and focus on a plan
Did you know of Iraola before he came here?
How about the guy at Brighton was managing German Div 2
Football is not a progressive sport at the top end when it comes to coaching IMO
It’s why a great guy like Gaspareni lasted one year at inter yet has his smaller side regularly competing with them.

Is anything okay dear? ☺️

You either BACK a manger or you don’t. Saying you have no confidence in him is tantamount to wanting him gone.

Personally I feel like we can at least elevate our performances to go toe to toe with the best. So once we reach a final for example we’d be better placed to take the win and trophy. I didn’t ever feel that in the past. If we’re honest, pool were better than us. They moved the ball better. Passed better. Same with Chelsea. And we lost to both in finals because of a lack of quality.

Whilst we are not consistent we are playing ina way that can reach higher echelons.

Without a lot of first team players and using players who need a break, we deliver a poor performance at a side riding high. And you’re surprised? Questioning your allegiance and faith.

In the end it undermines the manger before they’ve even reached their initial goals.

They’re under contract aren’t they?

We may win a trophy….the Europa would mean CL football. Long shot I know.
It was our most viable way of getting there right at the start of the season
Me and my mates have booked a hotel in Bilbao and I’ve met some spurs fans who have booked flights
There is no excuse in that competition because we get so many lifelines

Ange had other PL interest previously https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnati...hton-wolves-southampton-premier-league-celtic

I’m not surprised. We did the same against Palace and Ipswich, when injuries weren’t an issue. We did the same thing plenty of times in the last 6 months of last season. Our away record in our last 15 away games? W3, D3, L9.

So why would I be surprised?

There’s a difference between wanting and hoping that it improves, while being aware of the very obvious increasing issues, and sticking fingers in ears and hoping that everything will be fine in the end, despite mounting evidence to the contrary.

And, to reiterate, for me the major problems lie at a higher level than the manager.

The original point was looking beyond the results. Understanding the plan. Seeing what is working. Understand what is still to be developed.

Your original post lamented supporters for reacting to results though - my response was that it isn't the result that people are reacting to. Had we lost whilst giving it a go and showing signs of there being a plan then the reaction would be different - last night was a terrible performance with absoloutely no semblance of there being a plan or seeing some green shoots of progress - now ok you can argue that this happens from time to time when you are developing a team which us fair enough, however I feel that the bad days/performances are outweighing the good.
