Maybe when Ange inevitably gets sacked we can give him a role in the transfer team. He could be the one who goes and talks to the players and persuades them to sign.

Unless we lose 5 or 6 on the bounce at some point between now and May I now see him here until the end of the season at least, whether that is right or wrong, depends what side of the fence you stand (or sit)

He unfortunately is in that awful place of always "it's the next 3 matches"

Lose the next 3 and we would be out of 2 cups and back down the table, manage to pull off a draw against Pool, and 2 wins, he's probably safe for season.

Is Ange upgradable? Very much so. Do we have a better alternative as of now? No we don't. What we do have is a great pack of promising youngsters and a manager willing to play them, and several at once. But they seem very, very badly coached. I'd like to see an overhaul of the coaching staff rather than a manager change yet again. Our defense is downright laughable at times, where so called professionals who have played football most of their lives don't look like they know what the hell they're doing.

Build from the back. Sort out the defense and the rest will come, don't persist on playing out of form players week after week. Form partnerships like Toby and Jan, a coalition much better than the sum of it's parts. Play players in their preferred position, or don't play them. It's painfully obvious that sometimes our players don't know where the heck the others are or where they're supposed to be. There's absolutely no use playing, say Werner if we don't have multiple players attacking the box. If left on his own he will screw up, and badly. With Richarlison fit, the story could have a different ending. We have nothing to lose on rotating the squad this season. We won't go down, so from here on out every win is a... well, win. I have no problem admitting that I've wanted Ange out more than once this season, but then I look at 20-times champions Man Utd and things aren't so bad after all. We could've had Højlund as our main striker. At least we have hope for a better future in a somewhat close proximity.

I'm still desperate to win something, but getting this idiot out is the priority for me. We'll never be more than also rans under him.

Help me understand, there is no coach that could match Tactics Tim's PPG with this squad available in world football for a salary that is typically 3X-8X what they currently earn? Btw, at Tactics Tim's return we would be 7th right now instead of 14th.

He’s here until the end of the season. We won’t get relegated and Levy will want to pay as little compensation as he can.

Levy has willing paid out for Poch, Jose, Conte, I don't think we are concerned about Ange's payout. And I'd be amazed if there isn't a performance clause for payout (e.g. outside of top 10 for prolonged period)

I’m aware I’m in the zone of possibly contradicting myself here, as it was a game in a competition I detest and have been championing getting out of all season.

But was that not still an appalling effort from a side managed by a man, who’s stock in trade, by his own words, has been “winning trophies in his second season”.

Nobody turned up tonight, with the possible exception of Bergvall.

Whatever preparation, conditioning and messaging went into tonight, none of it stuck.

How can anyone expect it to?

The reason the wheels have fallen off is Ange has spent 18 months coaching/pushing 1 way only. Now (and for last few weeks) we have no choice, we have to adapt somehow, try to be a little more pragmatic, but the players haven't been drilled/coached in that for almost two fudging seasons, so surprise, it doesn't look good, they look out of sorts, uncoached.

It's exactly the same brick that is happening at United and to a lesser extent City (they just have better players), coaches with minimum flexibility struggle to adapt, players look fudging lost

I'm really struggling to understand what he sees during matches and understand the changes he makes. It was obvious the midfield was the issue and should've been changed at half time, not about 15 mins into the second half. Son was a passenger, again, how does he not take him off?
It's getting more and more frustrating. I know the squad is bare, but there were changes he could've made. Bergvall has been our best midfielder for the last few months, he's aggressive, and that aggression was needed tonight. Moore in place of Son.

Should just leave it Mase. He unscrambled the players after Mourinho and Conte very quickly

His decisions are head scratchers. He’s just, as John Giles would say, doing things on a wing and a prayer and hoping.

Back 3 v Everton. Spence moved all over the place tonight. Gray likewise - everywhere except his best position.

Ange is a decent man but, at this level, he’s just not a good football manager. Looks out of his depth and has no clue what he’s doing.

The way in which Gray is being shunted about is worrying to me now.

To be fair, he said he'd win "something" this season.
We assumed he meant a trophy. Maybe he meant pity.
