Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

Re: Faith, love & hope

THE SILVER fudging BACON

This ^

If this board has 2000 users there will always be "some" that don't like the manager.

Even if we had Mourinho there would be a vocal minority saying they don't like his attitude or his suit or the way he asks his players to cheat.

More and more people are realising that AVB is an anagram of "above average" and we might do well under his leadership

Re: Faith, love & hope

I still believe away from home we are fine but what concerns me is home... We lack ideas at home... we wont and cant just have one game plan to counter which works perfectly fine away

And I think this whole AVB hater thing is just wrong. No one on here anyways 'hates' AVB but natural to have reservations about him

I agree. And i expected totally the opposite before the season started. I expected us to struggle away and win nearly every home game.

We need Ade at home to keep the ball and create more chances. Maybe play 442 at home .

I think its at home that we miss Modric the most because we just cant keep the ball and pass it around at the moment. That first half vs QPR we just couldnt keep the ball.

Dembele doesnt keep the ball, he gets it and drives forward, then we lose the ball. We need to keep the ball more at home.

Re: Faith, love & hope

i think it is something he might pick up on and change as the season progresses

wouldn't be surprised to see us switch to 442 with Defoe and Ade when he is fit

I just want to know whats happened to him. Really hope he's back in the squad next weekend, or even Thursday night for that matter

Re: Faith, love & hope

Trust me there are people who really hate him and seemingly want him to fail on this board

I've been in a lot of the AVB threads and cant name anyone in that category. Who are you referring to ?

And wrt to the opening post, everyone is on the same vehicle and always has been. But after each match we discuss the performance of that day, so if we're bad and the manager makes mistakes - no harm in saying so. We've now had some really promising signs in the last few games and thats been noted by everyone as well.

However I wouldn't say after the last 3 games AVB has proven himself. Just as after 3 games he wasnt a proven failure. We had a shocking start to the season performance wise and then some really good positive play in the last 2 away games that is starting to balance it out. QPR was quite bad but that was after a midweek Europe game, so winning when playing brick is always a good sign.

And the really good thing about today, AVB might just be a lucky manager. Compare it to a few years ago losing 5-2 when every decision went against us and every shot flew in, today we got away with a pen and they missed some sitters. About bloody time we had that luck.

Well and truly put that **** in his box. Funny.

And let me also say, all the dingdongs go and eat dingdongs. Yes, eat yourself or other dingdongs that happen to be around.

Before I post this article I would like to post this picture of a fat ugly qunt (the qunt on the left)

Spurs in turmoil

'Tired' stars slam AVB
Exclusive

By PAUL JIGGINS

Published: 33 minutes ago

UNHAPPY Tottenham stars held showdown talks with Andre Villas-Boas over his training and tactics.

Boss AVB also had a bust-up with technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood, who is allegedly angry at being frozen out.

Players complained that AVB’s gruelling double training sessions — sometimes staged just 24 hours before a match — left them too tired to perform in Premier League matches this season.

And Spurs stars have also hit out at their manager’s negative style of football, telling him they would prefer to play a more attacking system. AVB has scrapped the double training sessions after listening to his squad.

Spurs, away at Manchester United tonight, are eighth in the table and unbeaten since losing at Saudi Sportswashing Machine in their opening game.

But AVB is said to have been left reeling by the mutiny, which reportedly follows bust-ups with some of the club’s old guard behind the scenes.

The Portuguese boss, who took over in July, ruthlessly axed chief scout Ian Broomfield earlier this month.

AVB’s row with Sherwood has also caused concern.

The former midfielder was looking to be more involved with the first team this season.

But AVB said this week: “I think the chairman sees Tim working with the development squad.”

Sherwood may quit if his old club Blackburn offer him the chance to replace Steve Kean, who quit last night.

The situation has echoes of the way AVB infuriated the Chelsea squad last season before he was sacked.

Villas-Boas was fined £12,000 for criticising referee Chris Foy last season — and the same man takes charge today.

Asked whether United boss Alex Ferguson has an influence over refs, the Spurs boss said: “It’s an interesting question but I paid a very high fine last time and I don’t want to do that again.”

Looks like the source of this has been exposed. A parting shot from Tim Deadwood:

Richard Keys ‏@tSKeysandGray
"Tim Sherwood told us today Spurs were tired - over trained -and unhappy with AVB. Doesn't look like that to me"

You chaps might be interested to know that the win today at Old Trafford means that AVB is Tottenham Hotspur's most successful manager, statistically speaking, in the club's history...

...shame we're having such a terrible start to the season though, according to the self-appointed "experts" who work in the media.

Re: Faith, love & hope

Can everyone finally get on the same vehicle now?
We all won today. Lovers and haters. So how about everyone pull in the same direction?
Believe.
Stop looking back and look forwards at whatever's coming.
Believe in what you're seeing, believe in the effort, the earnestness, the drive, the passion, the work rate, the desire to make our club STRONG as well as victorious, the desire to actually BRING HOME THE SILVER fudging BACON, the desire and drive to be what we should be.

COYfudgingSPUUURRRRRSSSS!

I'm on board

What are we calling it?

A love train?

Why would they put that on their twitter?

Re: Faith, love & hope

Why would they put that on their twitter?

Because Sherwood is tinkled off at being frozen out and is brick stirring (basically he is the source of today's Sun's story) as a parting gesture? I'm sure Keys leaked it with Sherwood's approval - they are mates after all.

Re: Faith, love & hope

Happier indeed, but not getting carried away I've been a Spurs supporter to long to count my chickens. I really like AVB's singlemindedness when it comes to not giving a brick what other people think - where I thought it was a weakness before, now I think it will give us a siege mentality. Still early days but for one thing AVB seems to have got Defoe playing in a much more intelligent way.

Re: Faith, love & hope

Keys and Gray are sexist dinosaurs and can do one. Has beens.

As for Sherwood - shut it you two bob mug.

Good on Richard Keys to air that slimy weasel out. Now hopefully Levy hands him his P45.

i can't imagine that someone in their position would air that sort of thing to the public , if it's legit then fair enough, but im skeptical at the moment

well not so much the message but the fact they say it is Tim Sherwood who has said it
