Andre Villas-Boas - Head Coach

Just another stick to bash AVB with thats why, VDV wanted to take his family back to line in Germany and the club let him. Those that refuse to believe that do so for their own reasons.

And it appears to me that certain individuals that rated VDV but are also a fan of AVB are intentionally spinning to ensure that AVB can't be proven wrong in VDV leaving. It wouldn't have even been AVB's choice. It would have been Levy's.

This pretty much sums it up. We made Modric stay another season and if it wasn't for Chelsea luck it would have paid off. And Modric really wanted to leave. I don't believe VDV was adverse to staying or going, but if we had simply said he isn't for sale then he would have happily stayed. I do believe it was a mistake letting him go, but I also understand why AVB wouldn't feel he would fit in and I have full faith in AVB.

VDV is a class player and I'm sure AVB would have made it work somehow. Heck even VDV for Dempsey would make us far better everything else being equal. Anyway, spilt milk ....Willian in January please.

It was Arry's via Begiristain

I don't think VDV can play the system that AVB wants to play. AVB will get there given time, but we need to replace a lot of players. Even Bale and Lennon don't really fit in with his system in my opinion.

Why does it have to be anyone's fault? Maybe the interests of all parties aligned to facilitate this move? Levy gets a good price, VDV gets a move he wants, AVB doesn't mind either way.

This is a regular thing with all players, assign blame/credit to the manager/chairman for players coming or going depending on your personal views on any of the persons involved.

And it appears to me that some are just brick stirring, maybe you are the one who placed so many on ignore because they saw through the flimflam.:-k

For me it's a fault because we need him still. So therefore if there was any way we could have kept him, we should have.

You've tripped yourself up paranoid one. You normally only post these sort of things from your main account.

We all know some of your other accounts on here. No amount of pretending to be someone else can hide that. I don't even have to check, it's so obvious from the way you post.

I think after a while he ended up having everyone on ignore so when he logged in one day saw a blank forum, thought he was banned and started a new alias :)

This place is a like a nut house / soap opera sometimes

Gotta love it :ross:

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, maybe at the time it was good for all parties, maybe in the long term it will be good for all parties but because it isn't a perfect situation at this moment in time someone has got to be blamed!!!

Here is what I genuinely believed to have happened

- he did enjoy London and Spurs - hence his respectiful comments prior to his move - I think he wanted to stay deep down.

- his wife however might have put pressure on him to consider a return having failed to make CL and essentially competing on a similar level to HSV

- a solid offer came in - agent/Levy/AVB/himself - all sat down and discussed it

- he explained his family stance and his wife's situation

- a decision was made to take the good offer and keep everyone happy

Many players have made career decisions on family in the past - why is this one any harder to believe / accept?

I think the fact that we let him go so easily, with very little negotiation shows that the club didn't want to keep him. And just so nobody accuses me of being an AVB basher, that doesn't mean I'm saying that the decision was AVB's, it's more likely that it was Levy in my opinion. We all know Levy's MO, buying players young (ish) and then selling them on for profit when he thinks the player represents dead money, Redknapp had to twist his arm to sign Parker.

I understand the arguement that he wants to be with his family, but as I said earlier in the thread, his wife is in Hamburg, less than hour away by flying so it's not like she's the other side of the world.

How do you know we let him go so easily with little negotiations?

For all we know - this could have been set in motion months prior to September 1st
