Total = 22 (26-4), with 9 HG


Ins = GK, Modric replacement, Ade, Ade backup (4)

Outs = Modric, Bassong, Cudicini, Rose, Jenas, Bentley, Defoe (7)
 
But, if included in the 25, the likes of Caulker etc count towards the 8 homegrown players right?

It makes no difference registering him as a homegrown player or leaving that space open (you don't have to register 8 homegrowns), he would still be available to play.

You can register 17 players regardless of their status and the remaining 8 must be homegrown if you want to utilise the squad places.

We don't need four goalkeepers, Modric replacement will take his place, so only need one out for a striker. With all the rumours we'll be struggling to fill the spots soon.

P.S. Are there any sensible rumours on Gomes or Bentley?
 
Whilst i know it's the 25 man for the Registration purposes, assuming that the makeup is 3 GK's, 8 Defenders, 10 midfielders and 3 strikers lets look at first + Backup.

Not looking at the fact we need 25 men. Just the makeup of the squad. It seems clear where any issues currently are. Our CM spot is currently lacking, Livermore would make an alright 2nd team member however i would not be confident if he were 1st. Lennon's backup has not been a success thus far. Yes we could play Sig or Vdv in the RW spot, but neither of them are natural wingers. Backup for Bae is an issue, and has been for a while. Whilst the ST options could use strengthening.

With this team makeup you would have 24 players, which is fine and there would still be room for a versatile player, not that it would be a bad thing if the backup to others were capable of it.


(With regards to playing a 4-3-3, just push the AM back and the RW/LW forward)
