    Champions League 25/26

It would be quite comforting to England fans if Kane finally took a game of this stature by the scruff of the neck and owned it in the way that we've seen Messi and Ronaldo do. I've not watched the game. How did he play?

I don't. I think Porro is massively underrated and under-appreciated by the Spurs fans. I just wish Spence had the fight in him that Porro has.

I have no time for any referee that blatantly ignores the laws of the game. I don't care what their name is. No football stakeholder anywhere has given any ref permission to ignore the laws. The system is completely broken because of it.

I haven't watched a ton of footie this year but do we see any examples of where a luxury player like Madds can be afforded in the middle of the park? This modern PL doesn't seem to lend itself to that. Most teams seem to have a very robust double pivot. Anyway, I guess we wait first to see what...

The Game Is About Glory Podcast

Had a good little catch up with some pods yesterday. Just a couple of things - There is a massive difference between Emery making changes for one second leg of a EL semi-final and Ange fielding weakened teams from February. Not about whether it was the right thing to do or not, but you guys...

I've always thought we could put together some very good 4-2-3-1's with Madds, Kulu, Kudus and Xavi in the same squad. We have the full-backs in Porro, Udogie, Spence and Souza to be the width as well. Personally, I don't think putting any of them in the 2 centre mid slots works in this current PL.

I think you're both right. Levy's job should have been to leverage his considerable skills and focus on what he was good at. Great leaders then introduce other senior members to cover their own portfolio gaps. Levy clearly had gaps on the football ops side but was too stubborn to get out of...

    ENIC

Yep, it's the way I'm thinking. Levy's prime time was up to 2019. He can be forgiven the COVID years but his running of the club through to his departure was a massive problem. It's why the Tavistock group and the Lewis family felt they had to take action. That should have included Cullen...

I have concerns about Robbo. He's not the player he was. Shame Brentford just added the 1 year clause to keep Rico Henry until summer 2027. He would have been a good option. I'm not a massive Spence fan but would be concerned if we didn't replace that versatility he offers. Udogie is becoming a...

[New Keeper], Kinsky, Austin Porro, Spence, Udogie, Souza Romero, VDV, Danso, Vuskovic, Phillips Gallagher, Madds, Gray, Bergval, Sarr, Bentancur, [New CM] Kulu, Moore, Kudus, Tel, Xavi, Odobert Solanke, Lankshear, [New FWD] If I'm honest, even that squad is probably too big for league campaign...

    João Palhinha

I think he's been best when he can be on that 1 game a week cadence. I would still worry if we didn't plug our midfield squad gaps and had to over rely on him. I reckon he definitely has the game to become a real sitter and play on for a few more years. I do worry about his ability on the ball...

    Mathys Tel

I think you would have to ask Matty Cash about Tel. The Villa fullback looked like he hated every minute playing against Mathys. He just kept coming at him all game, got goal side of him and was happy to get into any foot race. I think that was also Muani's best game as well. RDZ has obviously...

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

I think we are tough on ourselves sometimes. I think THFC is still an attractive proposition to a manager at RDZ's level. He's on something like £12-15m a year and has a really big opportunity at our club. In my opinion, he can build something bigger than Poch had because he is not as...

    João Palhinha

True, but he has flopped at BM after being impressive at Fulham. He is playing for his future so you would expect him to be giving everything. The staying up versus going down scenarios certainly change your thinking on whether we keep or release these players. I'm still on the fence with...

    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

In some ways, RDZ's timing of joining the club will be perfect for a transfer window. He would have had a small chunk of time to really get to know his squad and that will inform him on what needs to happen in the summer. We have the end of contract departures of Davies, Palhinha, Bissouma and...

The *WHEN* we go down thread

It's interesting that if we get one more point we would have matched last season's total where we were 13 points from 18th place. The points we have now would have kept us safe in any of the last 5 seasons. This really is the perfect storm where a relegated team could pick up 40 points.

BTW, I'm taking full credit for the win yesterday. I went back to the same barstool in the same pub that I watched us win the Europa League in. I went with the same Spurs fan and paid £7 per pint. Haven't set foot in there since last May.

We now live in a world where a fan's perspective is way more accurate and informed than any of these so called pundits. Fans on this site no way more about their club than any of those clowns we watch on Sky.

I'm going to be controversial here. Today was the first game I've watched since early Conte days where I felt the players were aligned with their manager's instructions and could execute them. No blind faith or operating massively out of their comfort zone. Finally, they just did the basic...
