There is a massive psychology difference here between the 2 players though. Davies has been unavailable for team selection consistently over a 5 year period through injury and even when fit knows he is most likely on the bench. He is also in the twilight of his career and with that comes...

Because I didn't realise it would actually come out as his name. I thought it would have been like Ghod, Sexy and all the other auto-replacements we have. One of the mods needs to get that changed pronto.

    Cristian Romero

I guess you have to ask the question whether all boxes can be ticked by Romero. I completely understand that the international team and winning the world cup is way more important than his club side. When you think about it logically, it absolutely should be even for the English who have been...

Cuti needed to do his rehab in a warmer climate as it's not hot enough in the UK this week

Now there's an idea for a new thread. I guess we could just all agree to put Sol Campbell in 1st place and discuss 2nd place onwards :tearsofjoy:

If Romero is so ruthless about his career and international football, why did he sign the new contract at Spurs? He must have clearly believed in the potential of our club.

So you think the weather gods have their own teams and corroborate with the football gods to make sure they win? Which category of GHod does Howard Webb fit into?

Yeah, that's a good positive spin on it. I'll take that, obviously still hoping they all went back out to strip clubs again last night :tearsofjoy:

LOL - I can already hear the Lange type narratives about Ben. Nice guy, very analytical but way too soft to be a CEO. Wouldn't want him in the negotiation room. Not bad at building databases of players and buying youngsters but is not a leader. Wasn't even a captain when he was a player.

Do you not feel like tomorrow's weather is part of the perfect storm of a season we're in? We finally get a manager who gets us organised on a high press and the football gods give us 30 degree heat to make it impossible to keep that intensity going. You couldn't make it up right?

I'm sure we'll be doing Bangin In Your Head and Ain't No Pleasing You

    Ingerlund

Too true. Perhaps one upside is that most of our players will be resting up. The ones that are going might not be on the pitch e.g. Sarr at AFCON. We desperately need a full quota of fit, fresh players for the real start to RDZ's tenure next season. That might just happen.

Would love to hear whether everyone else is going to be on Sunday. Anything to distract from the actual game itself right?

I've planned a "Sundioke" for Cancer Research on Sunday. I play keys and my mate plays guitar. We've got a setlist of 200 songs where anyone can choose from the list and pay to come and sing or play with us. We're doing 2-4pm and then watching the game. We're then back on the instruments until...

Could be training in extreme temperatures, different humidity etc as well in preparation for the World Cup. Still think he should be present in our biggest game though.

    Ingerlund

I would have taken Stones, Guehi, Konsa, Colwill, Quansah. A good blend of different talents, youth and experience. It perhaps missing the impact in the opposition 18 yard box that a Burn or Maguire gives you though.

Wow - Spence made the squad. Didn't see that coming.

But it's an objective discussion though. Kane made his decisions and missed PL games because of that decision. He only started game 3 of that season because of the late conditioning schedule the club were forced to put him on. Cuti is not actually fit for selection but as club captain he should...

Now we're being silly. How can we have a go at Cuti for being in Argentina when Kane couldn't even get his arse back from Miami for day 1 of pre-season. He extended his own summer, then came back and wasn't exactly a shining beacon under Nuno. He just did what he wanted.

I'd love Tim Vickery to be talking nonsense but I actually doubt he is. We'll be shocked to see Romero in a Spurs shirt again. I have a sneaky feeling RDZ is glad he's not around. That allows the emergence of the other leaders in the camp.
