Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Pretty sure Mitchell finally got one right about Mortimer after getting it wrong every time before. Love how much is stresses him out trying to decide if Bob is lying or not 😂

Totally agree. That’s why I stay very level headed with transfer news, incoming or outgoing until it’s on the club website. I don’t get excited about potential signings until it’s a done deal. Especially given when we’ve had some high profile near misses. The same principle should be applied...

I just don’t see us selling to them. And as much as I see Romero wanting to play for them, he has to know he wouldn’t be first choice.

    Cristian Romero

It’s plausible that he would want to play for them. But I don’t see why they’d want him. He’d be a downgrade on their existing CB’s, and I don’t even rate Gabriel that highly.

    So, what happened today?

https://www.si.com/wnba/sophie-cunningham-is-already-trying-to-clean-up-mess-she-made Another day, another female athlete speaks common sense about trans participation in sport and is told to get back in her box. She hasn’t said a single thing wrong in her comments. And for Sports...

He’s brought the villain tag on himself with stupid tackles and brainless red cards. We need to get over this narrative that he’s being unfairly targeted. He’s dirty and that’s why he accumulates so many suspensions.

Never got the hype about Pogba. I don’t even know what league he plays in these days. Has he gone back to Juve or United for the umpteenth time?

    Cristian Romero

It’s not a silly example at all. Pogba has WON a World Cup too. But his career has hardly panned out as world class. Would you consider Otamendi world class?

Randal Kolo Muani also played in a World Cup final. Paul Pogba starred in another final. I don’t think anyone would call either world class.

Have they updated the points for ST holders? Last time I checked I had a similar amount to what I had at the end of last season.

I really enjoyed The Odyssey. I'm not especially familiar with the original source material beyond films like Troy, but that didn't affect my enjoyment. I loved the first 90 minutes, although I did feel the final hour wasn't quite as strong, aside from the ending, which I thought landed really...

But what does “one of the top prospects in Europe” look like exactly? Because his numbers certainly don’t reflect that. If he truly was one for the top prospects in Europe then he’d still be at Bayern.

    Richarlison

De Zerbi said 12 players were good enough. I was hoping he wasn’t referring to Richarlison as one of them.

Small sample of games Finney. You also have to factor in new manager bounce (yes I know we didn’t get that with Tudor). If he gets us into the top 6 then he should win manager of the season in my eyes.

I agree. Hence why mid table seems like a sensible aim.

I don't blame people for being optimistic, especially after the rubbish we've had to endure over the last two league campaigns. Last season was comfortably my least enjoyable since I started supporting the club. That said, I don't think a healthy dose of realism would go amiss. As things stand...

We will never know as at that point we hadn’t made any signings. It’s like people think the only reason we struggled was due to injuries and not the players being below the required standard. I’ve never seen a worse crop of wingers and forwards at Spurs than the ones we currently have.

I’m talking about before the window opened, posters were still bullish. Now they’ve we’ve made some good signings I’m more optimistic. I would still however like to see some forwards. I’ve said many times I think our forwards are crap.

Even if it was, talk of finishing in the top 6 before any signings were made seemed extremely fanciful to me and bordered on delusion.
