    Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

Wasn't it more that ENIC had bought out Sugar only a year before that and weren't thought to be likely to sell at a reasonable price? May have my timelines confused but don't think we were on the market in the same way that bankrupt Ken Bates has Chelsea. Also didn't we sign foreigners such as...

32% voter turnout last week, 59% in last general election. Not sure we can read that much into what happened last week. Hopefully Reform's overall vote share will continue to decline as it did in the last 12 months.

    Football back in the day

I personally think the general skill levels have deteriorated since those days but the development of technology (boots, balls) and significant changes in lifestyle, fitness and medical support (outside of N17 of course) mean a faster game. I watch games now where passing is poor, crossing...

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

Another pish poor decision. Can see why a ref may call it in the moment but VAR again fails to use basic common sense or their eyes. No way a ball bounces like that if it hits a hand rather than a head.

To be fair, with her grammar, it can be read as he is both a child rapist and also a paedophile enabler, rather than a child rapist enabler and a paedophile enabler. First time I skimmed through it I didn't immediately link the enabler bit to both parts of the statement.

and have some way to hold muppets like Arteta (and Wenger and Ferguson and Moaniho) to account for being so hypocritical over ref decisions.

@Muttley I don't disagree but do you need the 'live' technology to do this? If refs and the assistant refs became draconian during the game and retrospective punishments were issued via a panel after then you would achieve the same thing without the delays. Rugby first used technology for...

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

The time it takes is not worth it. People are much more accepting of one human's error at the speed of the game than 4 humans' errors still at the end of 3 minutes of slow-mo and a dozen camera angles. The subjectivity and innate bias that refs have (too early for a card, he is on a card so...

It doesn't change the scam though. It is still referee's interpretation. Has the challenge removed possession by touch followed by has the challenge prevented the attacking player from continuing the attack? If the touch is enough to move the ball away from the attacker and the tackle is a...

This is the crux to me. You used to leave a match feeling hard done by but human error by the ref, all part of the experience. Now though you expect, with technology the correct decisions, yet 4 blokes in a van watching Sky Sports still make brick calls so you feel further aggrieved. Bin...

Seems to be factually wrong as well. Defence budget forecast was £62 billion plus for a start. Education £122 bn and UC less at £145bn. Would suggest the person putting this together might have an agenda?

Proper citing and punishment after the matches, including for managers. It can be missed in a match but if it should have been a yellow or red then a sanction afterwards, especially for cheating such as diving and rugby tackling & obstruction at corners. Doesn't solve the issue in the actual...

You do know there have been more attacks on mosques since October 2023 than there have been on synagogues? Obviously there are more mosques because there are more Muslims but the raw number of attacks is significantly greater of mosques. So it could be for either or both reasons. edit: just...

Likewise I was brought up in a(n Irish) Catholic family being dragged to mass and sunday school every week and having the contents of the bible rammed down my throat every sodding day of my childhood and early teens. I am not religious these days and have managed to clear my mind of any...

Well you labelled it a religious belief which is fundamentally wrong to start with. There is a religious zionism subgrouping (in both Christian 'bring on Armageddon/the Rapture' thinking and within some jewish communities) but it is overall a ethnic socio-political ideology, not a religion.
