***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Wolverhampton Wanderers, Molineux, Sat 25th April, 3pm - ***

To think we had two of Madrids finest players in Modric and Bale...why do we give away our best players..it could have all been different....
I still think we have pretty decent team now. We just lack the world class of Kane, Son, Lloris and the ones you mentioned. When everyone is fit and ready we could be top 4 contenders again with 1-2 good signings. Maddison and Kulusevski are missed heavily. Would drop Maddison into a CM role to give us some clarity in building up play. Would have signed Osimhen when the opportunity was there, would still do it now. Would have taken Theo Hernandez for 20m when he was for sale. He is a leader and a great player. We can recover as long as we can get out of this fight this year.

I think there’s clearly not someone on the level of Kane or peak Son. But our players are superior on the whole to at least 10 of the teams in this league, if not more. In terms of their level of experience, their international pedigree, how proven they are in this league, how much they would command on the market, whatever metric you like.

It just makes me laugh how people can look at our squad and genuinely think it should be 18th, rather than thinking that something has gone hopelessly, drasticallyc wrong.

Yeah, that's fair. I've had to reset myself though. I though our squad could be punching for a champions league place when we went into this season. However, we've clearly been a victim once again of our club buying quantity over quality and there is always that massive question mark about the culture within the camp. The squad is a mid table one with potential.

I think someone like Joao Gomes showed us for about the 5th or 6th consecutive Wolves fixture how we often aren't looking at the right purchases in the transfer market. He would have been stunning in our midfield for the last couple of seasons. Very gettable as well in my opinion. Instead, we're now reading the very expected narratives about players like Muani, Palhinha, Dragusin, Vicario, Spence, Richi, Solanke etc.

Even if we stay up, we would still need to rip out a third of this squad. Therein lies the problem. Would we then go down the quantity model again or would we use our nous and buy just 2 or 3 players and promote youngsters? I think we all know the answer to that question.

Not allowed to swear at football now?

Ive seen whole stadiums (including ours) chant “w*anker” at players being stretchered off. It’s football, people might swear.

Behave for f uck's sake.

...if you don't get what I was saying then we'd best leave it alone. Suffice to say if I heard someone yelling 'fudgein brick c unt' at an injured player on a stretcher, I'd tell them loudly to shut the f uck up and stop being a c unt themselves.

Agree almost 100%, Steff - although I did jeer Jack Wheelchair off injured at WHL when he was playing for Bournemouth and had been acting like an absolute t wat for the entire game.

The exception that proves the rule.

Agree there are a few players I'd like to see get their comeuppance, players bring a lot of this bad behaviour by their own actions, love to see someone score and just celebrate with teammates rather than running to crowd or cameras like teenage girls on the internet desperate for attention.

Wham will likely drop points against the Goons. We just need to keep winning. Yes tall ask I know ..
It's almost a certainty Wham take care of Leeds on the last day. Therefore we have 3 games to get in front of them. 2 of those are Villa away and Chelsea away. It's done for me (sorry to be doomy).

You must spend your whole match doing this!

The person who initially posted missed the point.
They were clearly seeking to turn this into a 'you're one of those tosspots who doesn't want any emotion at football' debate/accusation.
I swear a lot at games.
What I don't do is swear directly at injured players, especially with that level of invective.

That isn't 'football' or 'football culture' that's just being a c unt in general (and a coward frankly).

Between Frank stopping them from playing football and the run we are on, the players' confidence is at rock bottom. It's a bit much to expect De Zerbi to totally transform the team in a couple of weeks. Saying that, the game against Brighton was the best we've played all season.
The problem was not sacking Frank sooner, and when they did, then giving it to someone not qualified for the job. If we had got someone of the calibre of De Zerbi earlier, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Disagree. This is just you justifying your position. We scraped a win against relagated Wolves. Brighton performance wasn’t the best performance of the season if honest with yourself. We played better in Europe under Frank.

As I said I prefer the football under the Italian and prefer him to Frank, but there hasn’t been the transformation post fran that you claimed there would be. And now you’re just making excuses. ‘Tudor wasn’t very good’ (disagree) De Zebri hasn’t had time. We havnt transformed post Frank as you claimed and frank is looking like a lot better manger than you and others gave him credit.

I believe brighter days are ahead, but sometimes you have to hold your hand up day: the bounce I expected post Frank didn’t happen.
