Note, last year a couple of players (Udogie was one, I forget who exactly) missed nearly all of pre season, and thus were always a bit short and playing catch up. This meant they got niggly injuries all season because their body wasn't 100% ready for the extremes of football, so I am hoping this year is different.

I.e. if someone has missed all or most of pre-season, they will be given a proper pre-season style training to get them fully up to the right levels, before being thrown back in. OK it might take 4 or 6 weeks more than we want, but if it means the player is fit all year rather than half-fit-and-injured-then-half-fit, it is worth waiting.
 
Thomas Frank gave a positive update on the defender but still does not know exactly when he will be back fit for the first team.

“He’s fully integrated in training now,” Frank said. “Coming back will take time because the ACL is such a big injury, because you’re out for nine months, so you need to build strength in the knee and need to have the same strength in the other knee and so on, so on.

When asked about whether Dragusin could be involved for Totttenham after the next international break Frank said: “That could be likely.

“He is definitely getting closer to being involved. I think we plan to play him in a friendly, as I understand it, so that’s a big part of it.”

During the last international break, reports suggested that Romania were keen to call up Dragusin into their squad. Thomas Frank responded to the rumour saying: “Of course, I haven’t spoken to him about it, but that doesn’t make sense to me.”
 
If you scroll up a bit, there is video of Dragu training with the first team on 8Sep.
Even if it was 'no contact' that is still a long time ago, almost 2 months.
Would be nice if he and Takai actually played some football at some point.

Fully agreed. Increased competition now with Danso in and hope Romero and VdV manage to stay fit. But his return could open the door for a back 3 more often if Frank wants that.

If he returns to the level he was at before his injury it will be good to have him back. And a good chance this rather different system will suit him much better.
