You think people are upset he's not Kane?
I'm upset he's not even Kanoute, Pavlychenko, Defoe or Keane. When I think of Richy criticisms Kane is a like a million miles away.![]()
Can't compare Kanoute's all round game to Richi's, Kanoute was a fantastic link man.Kanoute and Pat were both 1/4 strikers, same as Richie.
Defoe was exceptional finisher, but didn't offer anywhere near as much as Richie defensively.
Robbie was one of the greatest players of his generation and would have walked into any team on the planet, he was special too.
The difference is Kanoute was actually good at football and in this team he would massively contribute to our hold up and build up play and with a coach who respects him he was a fantastic striker. Pav had inconsistent touch but again still nicer with the ball more consistently than Richy and his goal per min stats trounce Richy's.Kanoute and Pat were both 1/4 strikers, same as Richie.

offence is the best defence, especially when the role is to get goals. no one would force him to defend if he can get a goal every other game. All fair points, but I think Richie’s defensive work balances that out and is massively underrated.
would love a Kanoute right now or a JD.
I know he scores some goals, but my GHod watching him play makes me eyes bleed.
Starting the season with these two still as our primary options is basically unacceptable. No hyperbole of recency bias, but that performance up to yesterday was as bad as anything I have seen in my years watching us. Was utterly awful.
Going into the season with him as a striker brings massive questions for me
I don’t think you can play the way RDZ without someone who can hold the ball upI love the way that every time Richi has a shocker, Dom is called out as being crap.
Personally, I just want Dom to get a run of games. He is at least a proper number 9.
They are both crap, Dom becomes better and better the longer he is unavailable. By the time he's got and ready people will be expecting prime Benzema. He wasn't impressive in his first season when he was fit and he hasn't been impressive since.I love the way that every time Richi has a shocker, Dom is called out as being crap.

He only looked good within the context that we had months of suffering with watching Richy game after game. Objectively speaking he was meh and only got worse. He came back from injury last season, looked alright for a bit then got worse and worse until he got injured again.

The problem we have with him is he cannot control a ball very well and his hold up play is shocking. when his back is to goal no one is scared of what he can do. There was 1 moment yesterday where we played some decent one touch stuff and it came to him, you could see it was clearly a poor touch but it ended up falling to our player. The commentator mentioned how that was much better from Spurs and that it was some good one touch stuff. He is shocking, i'd love to play against Richie as a CB knowing the tactics are to get it into him back to goal.
