Exactly what was said locally during the by election, so many interviews with people talking about how they’re on benefits and they’re sick of immigrants receiving more than them and how they’re voting reform as they think the usual parties don’t do enough for them.
Farage wins, and days later Reform want to slash benefits, ironically, exactly as they always said they would - the epitome of turkeys voting for Christmas, especially in a town where it’s about 95% white residents with a good proportion on benefits. So actively voting against their own interests.
I think a lot of these people don’t care if their lives get worse, as long as the lives of immigrants are worse still, it feels like as long as you give them someone to be ‘above’ then it’s ok.
