Transfer thread

Richarlison could not play LW at this point. His athleticsm has compeltly left him.

From a financial perspective it makes no sense to sell Solanke this season as well. We only turn a profit on anything above £35M.

Why does it only matter about turning a profit on him this year? We’d also remove the remaining £35m of his amortisation for the coming years.

Ignoring the add ones that was another £10M Solanke signed for £55M on a 6 year deal. £11M will have come off the first season. £8.8M last season. Remaining £35.2M on the books. We’re not getting much more than £45M for him.

perfect if we could replace both this window.

Thought the rumours were he was going on loan or permanent transfer.

Souza might be staying at the moment as Spence could be off. And RDZ might see him as a LB RW LW wild card option.

If RDZ sees he's technically solid and can pop the ball about then he's halfway there to being trusted (in regards to the way RDZ wants to play, looking at past Brighton vids)

Regardless....I definitely don't want to sell the kid on a permanent

I do remember Souza on the right of midfield in a 4-4-2 in one game but I don't really think of him as an ambidextrous footballer that can play both full-back positions. Am I wrong with that assumption? I've seen so little of him.

I guess this comes back to overall balancing act again at the squad level. What the club needs to raise as finances versus what the players want in the next phase of their careers. I am with you in that Souza piqued my curiosity when he pulled on the shirt. I didn't feel he was a player that we should be discarding too easily.

Yeah I’m saying why are you so focused on making a profit on players this year? If we sold Solanke now we’d have the benefit of getting that £35m off the books for future years too.

It was a load of nonsense coming from Brazil, permanent transfer makes no sense unless the kid hates being in the UK.

Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte reported on Tuesday that Porto had overtaken Benfica in the race for the 20-year-old. The Portuguese champions had already agreed personal terms with the player and were in advanced negotiations with Tottenham.

Hard to guage what he is as most of us have honestly seen how many minutes of him playing. What we have seen is promising ..Inc the positions he's been asked to play. Yes, I'm not sure about RB hence left it off the list:)

The other thing is...he wasn't that cheap on the way in, and the fees being suggested don't add up to much profit...so what's the point (given my first paragraph)🤷
