Pre Season Thread

I think loads to be happy about there.

First half we were very very very good, front foot playing, great partnerships forming.

Second half, red card aside, changes impacted but nice to see the kids give their all and with some resilience we got the result

Loads to do, lots of squad development to happen, but I liked what I saw first half especially, Tel and Bergvall were standouts with Tonali, who despite talk of his passing popped it around and dictated the tempo

Edit: Bravo Kinksy

I was thinking mostly "don't get injured, don't get injured, don't get injured" so I was pleased each time RDZ took off a first teamer.
He was whittling them down and I was thinking "yes, take Solanke off and rest him in cotton wool" and then the next and then the next.
Eventually he let Tonali get a rest and Gray... just get them off the pitch, no point flogging them in an Australian PSF.

Ryo Kyemateran looked like he got a hamstring strain, but other than that I didn't notice anyone limping or iced... did anyone at the game notice any injuries?

What a difference the next game will be against Getafe , from a 80,000 crowd down to just the coaching staff and squad players looking on and a few trees.
Lets hope Fernandes / VDV get some minutes , worrying that Madders hasn't been fit enough to be seen yet.

Just got in from work and settled down to the highlights. Chelsea goal...Van Hecke just stands there, hands behind his back and lets the cross come over. No attempt to close it down or stick a leg out. Hope this is not his usual approach to defending.

He's never been a very good DEFENDER. He's a good passer. A bit like John Stones. That's why I'm still pretty mad about selling Vuskovic and bringing this dude. Not an upgrade at all.

From what I've seen, we need at the very least a new central attacker... someone who can create and score rather than just relying on tap ins.

At the bare minimum Tel looks good at left wing. Solomon looks good on the right. Hopefully they can stay fit til the injured return.

However I'm glad that de Zerbi is allowing shooting from outside the box.
