Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

The whole notion of the playoffs is a scam anyway. Why should the 3rd placed team have to scrap it out. Promotions should be done on merit over the course of the season. Just another way to generate revenue.
I think they’re great, keeps the interest in the league table till the end of the season for at least half the league. Everyone knows the rules before the season starts anyway.

Love this coach.

“The most important game is Sunday because last season they played for the trophy, now we play for something more important. Because the pride, the history of the club, the dignity are more important than the trophy.”

“The trophy you can win, you can lose and nothing changes in your life. You can have one trophy more. But the most important is to keep the dignity, to keep the pride.”

You could well be right. I wonder if it will be seen as a master stroke or a mistake.

It is so frustrating. Chelsea were absolutely there for the taking last night. There was a point where we just had them on the ropes and needed the killer instinct. Instead we gave the ball away and added to to the long list of slow motion disasters that you can see coming a mile off from this season.

If I'm RDZ would the biggest concern be about the psychology of us being able to get away with just a draw versus Hammers having to go for broke and get a win? We all know how weak our mentality has been.

Let’s not write off the mentality of this group completely.

The pressure last year in the EL was huge. We’d put all our eggs in that basket, the manager had publicly staked his reputation on it and we hadn’t won a trophy in 17 years. Yet they pulled it out of the bag.

This year, we’d not won in 4 months, we’d fallen into the bottom 3 and they generated a bit of momentum to put us in a relatively good position.

They do have a bit about them despite the perception.

Fair point.

I’ll let you know if I agree with it at 6.00pm on Sunday. 😀
