Or a Marmoush that can do both. That still gives the opportunity to Moore, Tel, Lankshear to get in the first team. Xavi & Odobert when back.

He has been massively over hyped and pretty poor all told.
I think we will look better with Mads and Kulusevski, if they can get back to their best form. I would drop Maddison into a creative CM role, something like Modric at Madrid, and play a 4-3-3. Jury still out on if Xavi can play at LW. Would definitely keep Palhinha, he is a solid DM. We will probably need a GK, would also take a LB as Udogie is inconsistent and we have no natural LB on the bench. LW and striker are positions we might need to consider improving on as well. Would not keep Kolo M., don't think he showed enough. I would go for Osimhen if possible.
How did you steal my post before I even wrote it?New starting GK, LB, CM, ACM, LWF, CF
Back up RB, CB x 2, DM, RWF, CF
Normally yes, we would play with a AM considering our players. The thing is we are having problems controlling the midfield and building up play. Those 2 midfielders don't bring enough balls up front. We need more players there and someone creative that can help with that, hence Madds.I've always thought we could put together some very good 4-2-3-1's with Madds, Kulu, Kudus and Xavi in the same squad. We have the full-backs in Porro, Udogie, Spence and Souza to be the width as well.
Personally, I don't think putting any of them in the 2 centre mid slots works in this current PL.

Although I'd actually go for a starting RB as Porro as good as he can be offensively is conversely awful defensively.

So specific to our creative issue
- We may/may not see Maddison for a few minutes this season, assuming he'll be available at start of next
- Xavi is out, likely for most of next season.
Considering Maddison's age, do we find a long-term replacement for him? what profile, another senior player or up and coming?
We don't even know if RDZ will even consider this tactic. It's just my 2 cents. And yes, we need to see what Madds looks like after a who summer of training, if he can come back to a good level.I haven't watched a ton of footie this year but do we see any examples of where a luxury player like Madds can be afforded in the middle of the park? This modern PL doesn't seem to lend itself to that. Most teams seem to have a very robust double pivot.
Anyway, I guess we wait first to see what Madds we get back. Perhaps he does evolve into a deeper player.
Sell Romero, DragusinIs there a would where we could have Romero, VDV, Danso, Vuskovic and Senesi without European football. Or will they cash in on one?
Sell Romero, Dragusin
Release Davies
Re-Loan Vuskovic
Keep VDV, Danso, Senesi
Danso/VDV look miles better together than VDV/Romero do and Senesi doesn't play for us so how do you know he potentially couldn't play with the former twoSo you would have 3 CB’s of which 2 can’t really play together.

We already have one. He is a ginger and comes from Sweden. We should be looking to buy a starting AMC - we don't know what level Maddison will be when he returns and a year to wait for Xavi to come back who himself hasn't excelled/will need time to get over the injury too. Buy the best we can.

Porro has been poor defensively under Conte, Stellini, Mason, Ange, Frank and Tudor. It isn't system related, he isn't naturally a good defender. What he does have is massive workrate and a never say die attitude, he never gives up, but he isn't a good defender, period.Don't agree, Porro in the Villa game won 100% of his defensive duels (8/8), that has only been matched by a Spurs defender twice in last decade.
Porro is a WB, and the system needs to either give him a model to work in, or cover for him, when the side is disjointed or simply allows stupid brick (Frank's allow to shoot from range or leave far post open), he looks worse than he is.
I think he's a RDZ player, and we will see more of what we did on week-end, Porro allowed to attack (triangle with Gallagher/RKM) and Palhinha/other stepping behind to cover.
I honestly don’t think he’s that good going forward either.Porro has been poor defensively under Conte, Stellini, Mason, Ange, Frank and Tudor. I'd like a player with better balance as our starter, someone both good offensively and defensively. I don't actually think that is too much to ask.
