A competent manager would make a big difference to the mood for sure, Emery certainly fits that criteria.
It's not competence we need, we have that and with enough time Frank will improve us.

Emery is way more than competent, he's excellent, proven and has a beef with the goons.
 
It sounds to me as though Emery has got himself into a more traditional managerial role at Villa, so has more say than most, rather than running around trying to negotiate the layers of the corporate onion.
Not really, until recently they had Monchi who is a very defined DoF. He's worked very successfully in the same configuration as we have now.

I'm sure I was reading/watching something recently (I think it was on here, actually) talking about the level of control Emery has now at Villa and how he'd be unlikely to move anywhere else for that reason. Don't think I dreamt it, but that's not impossible :)
 
As dislikable as Bruno Fernandes is one can’t help but feel that he might’ve turned out to be a better signing than Lo Celso…
