I don’t know how we can go there series after series and not just lose but get whitewashed and not even compete. The Aussies put up a far better fight when they come over here, even when we’re the superior outfit. Even the 3-0 series in 2013 that we won wasn’t really a 3-0 as two were draws which the Aussies would have won at least one of them if not for awful British weather and the first test could have gone either way. We lose 4 or 5 nil and it’s a battering. It’s like when Spurs go away to Arsenal or Chelsea, you just know the outcome before it happens.

I just don't think there is any long term planning, its almost game by game, can this side beat SL at home, yes, can we beat WI at home yes.......Have we planned long term using them games to blood in youth and try other combinations like Rew and Rehan long term? No.

When we last beat them in Aus under Flower he took 2 years in long time planning to get that side together. Now it just seems reactive.
 
I appreciate this is not the most pressing of concerns at the moment around the England cricket team but when did cricket go down the football route of putting a “y” at the end of everyone’s name?
I was watching a bit of the TNT coverage during the week before going to bed with TMS* in my ears and it was just so grating - Swanny, Cooky, Finny, blahy blahy blahy.

*TMS has to be the best radio coverage of any sport, ever.
