It won't, we have a habit of keeping threads alive talking the same brick over and over again. Look at the MGW for example.
He didn't really stick to what he wanted did he? He was prepared to sign for us - imagine if Arteta had said no we don't want you/cant sign you. We would have a player playing for us who had begged Arteta to sign him - yuk! Good player, glad he didn't come....
