OMT - Tottenham Hotspur vs PSG

Our neighbours were having a bit of a party in their garden this afternoon - think it was one of their kids’ birthdays. They kept playing Shakira’s Waka Waka. Memories of Bilbao flooded back and I’m taking it as a good omen.
I don’t really expect us to win but I want us to take it seriously.

Well it didnt exist in 1963. And we've not been good enough to qualify (winning one of Europe's top two trophies) since it was introduced in 1974.

I guess it's the European equivalent of the charity shield, but a bit more important

We won the UEFA cup in 84 - what other major cup other than the equivalent of the CL was bigger than that?

Money, and establishing yourself, we were a CL ever present for years, we need to get that back before we think about the next rung of the ladder.
 
Just rewatching the end of the parade, after rewatching the behind the scenes video and loads of iterations of the Final highlights and celebrations.
Oh - Madders is just giving Brennan his birthday cake. Such a brilliant few nights.
This is what it’s all about. Let’s go and give this our best shot. it might all go wrong but at least let’s try.

Best possible preseason game to have.

A chance to test ourselves against a great team in a competitive game and a trophy to compete for.

Chances are we'll be second best by some distance, but hey. We're in the super cup, let's see what we can do. Hopefully we can do better than against Bayern.
 
This matters to me, remember a lot of prestige coming with winning this in the 80s and 90s

It would be amazing to win it. First team please and go all out — hopefully PSG are not prepared having only recently finished the club World Cup. Catch them on an off day and permanently add our name to the list of European Super Cup winner.

Then beat Burnley at the weekend.
