Doesn't matter anymore as long as you mention spurs it's valid. I remember the days when staff would try to keep things on topic & threads would be moved to there right place. Unfortunately those days are gone & you just have accept it or leave I guess

Your standard for world bearers seems similar to mine.
Pretty much the only way we've been able to get those players in the past has been by developing younger talented players or taking a chance on someone less proven.
It's probably still our most likely avenue to get there. Maybe someone like Eze could be that player. But most of those proven to be that player at a high level are out of our reach.
Sadly you might be correct , they are out of our reach. Developing young to become stars is rare. As I said for every Kane there’s 10 mediocre players.
Squad is very short of top tier talent. It’s got depth but that depth is all ok players.
So do the club need to pay wages that attract better players . Our Chairman said he wants to win leagues. It’s unrealistic. Weird statement from him.

Community owned clubs , zero hope of that in the PL.
Not sure what Change can hope to achieve, they had violent fan demos at the Hammers did it get rid of the owners, answer no apart from the one who died RIP.
St's and Members already have their elected reps who attend FAB meetings who needs Change. if we want a question raised we ask our rep to do it.
There was supposed to be a FAB meeting on 24th June so the minutes should be out within a couple of weeks, might be news on stopping screenshots of QR codes being transferred as this person is attending.
CTO Attendance: The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is scheduled to attend the next meeting on 24 June 2025 to discuss technological advancements and their impact on club operations.

To me the wage structure is set up well to maximise the chance that we get a next superstar or two through west I see as the most likely route. Leaves room in the transfer budget for quite a lot of highly talented signings. As well as less proven, but very good players such as VdV.
If we're also willing to pay more for the right world beater ready mate player remains an open question. For me that's a better option now than it has been in a lot of years.
I don't think one Harry Kane 10 mediocre players is accurate. If you list our top 10 rated young players now I can't know if one will become a world beater, but I think some of the others will become much better than mediocre. That has to be the plan/hope at least.

Empty words to get Levy off the hook short term. We all know his only real target is regular qualification for the CL on the cheap.
He got really lucky getting to the CL final with Poch, but none of that squad cost a bomb. In addition to the home-growns (Kane, Winks, Walker-Peters) he pulled off a clutch of absolute steals (Rose £1m, Trippier £3.5m, Walker £4m, Dier £4m, Dele £5m, Davies+Vorm combined c£13m); plus several excellent bargains (Eriksen £9m, LLoris £10m, Aldereiweld £11m, Verts £11m, Wanyama £11m). Even most of his his medium-priced buys proved really shrewd investments (Son £22m, Aurier £23m, Lamela £25m, Moura £25m).
Ironically his most expensive buys were his poorest value for money (Sissoko £30m, Sanchez £42m).

The ones we've spent larger fees on haven't worked out, so he should stick with the cheaper ones?
If we'd continued to bring in talent and sold someone like Eriksen, Alli or Dier at just past their peak we wouldn't have had the dip we've had. I'd blame Poch as much as Levy or anyone else
With whom? We sold bale. Who did we get in return? Walker?
Different era, if you look at the spend of last 5 years, it's very different to Poch era (obvious reasons, hint, $B stadium) or pre Stadium.
But just for arguments sake, how does getting CL on cheap benefit Levy? Spurs owners don't take dividends out, at best he gets a bonus (irrelevant number in scope of Spurs revenue/costs), and the additional CL revenue goes back into squad (23+ years of financials show this), how does that benefit Levy?

Because UK fans will not put their fudging money where their mouth is, Spurs was publicly traded for years, did any of the supporters groups make an attempt to purchase any shares? even just to have voting rights? there are still ~13% of Spurs shares available, why are none of the groups buying?
Don't meant to be argumentative but the wages feel like chicken and egg
- Reason our wages are so low currently is a lot of our senior players have moved on in last 3 years (Kane, Dier, Lloris, etc.) and a lot of the incoming (Udogie, Bergvall, Gray, Wilson, etc.) are rightfully on low wages.
- Our top ability to buy is seems to still be 65M-80M range, which seems to be the Solanke/Mbeumo/Eze type of player or a top level player with less than a year on contract
So to have a real conversation
- Would you want to pay those Mbeumo/Eze type players >200K/week? personally I think that is a mistake, it's a United type overpay for mid level players
- What top level player (that we could buy for ~80M) that would come to us, that we have been unwilling to match wages for?
I feel like it's a narrative stick more than fact at the moment (our current buying practice is very different than it was even 5 years ago)
When you look at the squad
- Son was elite, obviously on down side of career
- Romero, Porro, Maddison, Solanke, Bentancur (he was bordering elite under Conte pre injury) are very good players
- VDV & Udogie could a step up
- Johnson is the odd one out, I don't think he's a winger, with the right development he could move to a position where his elite level positioning could help him step up
- Bergvall is the obvious next player to step up (his progression in 2nd half of season was impressive)
- Gray, Vuskovich, Moore are top rated talents in their age group.
CM, RW, CF are the places we could do with that elite talent coming in.
