Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

All the liberals who have failed to confront what was happening in their own country and accused anyone who raised the subject of being racist and the are quite a few on this website who can feign mock outrage if you like, your attitudes and behaviour are what led authorities to cover this up and not confront it. Because they also fear being called racist. Your mindsets resulted in girls as young as 10 being passed around groups of men.

I applaud the government for doing the right thing, something the tories never got round to. He is slow getting going but he gets there in the end, Starmer, though I'm not always sure of his motives.

Once we get to grips with the true scale of the issue we can make the country a safer place for everyone. This includes moderate religious types who deserve to live freely if they adhere to that very basic principle of treating everyone freely and equally.

*After quite a few exchanges by email with a few of the posters I'm chummy with. I have decided to leave this website today. Not a big drama or anything like that. But I have become increasingly disgusted at the extremist nature of some of the posters on this board. I know a few others are feeling similar.

Hope spurs have a hood season next year and I'm sure the 3 I talk to I will see at the 7 or 8 games I go to next season. Mines a double vodka and coke with a twist of lemon remember.
Sorry but you are wrong - in fact out of order - to accuse any regular poster here of being responsible for young girls being raped. That is a despicable accusation to make.
Posters on here have never denied what has happened. What they have done is try to bring some balance to the reporting.
And yes, there are many people who are racist and who are more than happy to jump on stories of Pakistani “*struggle cuddle* gangs but ignore other groups and are happy to make it an issue of ethnicity or religion rather than it being crime by men of all shades against young girls. Because all they care about is immigration and are looking for bad news stories about it.
Yes there is absolutely an issue with men of Pakistani origin being responsible (and I don’t think anyone here has denied that)and that should be acknowledged and the police should be after every single one of them, which seems to be happening now, far too late, but better that they get identified and prosecuted and sent to prison. And everyone in authority who chose to diminish, ignore and facilitate what those girls went through needs to be held to account and punished.

This is not the first time you have threatened to leave the forum but you’re still here.
But if you do decide to go, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Personally I don’t agree with all his views but I think this forum and the world in general is better for viewpoint diversity. I remember Stephen Fry said if celebrating diversity doesn’t include diversity of opinion then it’s meaningless.

Also, everyone has their agendas and focus on things they feel are important and don’t talk about things that don’t fit into their narrative, I’ll admit I do it.

No problem with that.
Just don’t do a performative flounce but still be here.

Have you spent much time in prison or talking to prisoners?

It is possible to be both a criminal and a victim at the same time.
Some criminals are utter scum.
Some have decided to better their life or get what they want they'll ignore the laws society has created.
Some end up in situations where it's very hard to not become involved in crime.

If you don't understand why that last category is true - be very thankful that you don't.

I've grown up surrounded by criminals. Almost went to prison myself just got max community service and fine instead.

If everyone else is doing it, you do it. It was only when a lot of my mates started getting sentenced i thought better.

If you are getting punished for your actions from an early age you learn. If the older generation that you look up to, gangs and stuff are being punished you learn. They are not role models. They're not there. They are in prison.

People who are exploited in getting into crime and then have little to no chance of getting out of the criminality cycle....
In my experience literacy spread across that category and the middle category of trying to make a better life, being more prevelent in the latter.

Exploitation and getting into crime circles is far more about locality these days - think county lines gangs. In reality, organised crime (which has a cyclical nature in it's business model) actually needs literate and smart people - less likely to make mistakes or get caught.

Trevor Phillips, the former head of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and journalist, told Times Radio: 'I think that ministers owe an apology to all of the people who they essentially said were talking rubbish, to all the people who to whom they said you haven't actually bothered to read the Jay Report and you don't know actually what's going on and to all of the people of whom it was suggested their interest and concern about this was motivated in some way by racial distaste or prejudice.'

The social workers who claimed 10 year olds were sex workers need to go to prison.

Your attitudes helped shaped the politics of this topic and you should all be deeply ashamed of yourselves. You accuse right wing people and I don't actually feel I'm right wing but working class left wing actually but you have accused people of stoking racism through their language when it has helped protect these gangs and institutionalised rapes of vulnerable young girls in a supposedly developed country.

Is this like when you said you wouldn't post whilst Ange was in charge and then continued to post utter drivel up above and down below?

You'll do as you please as always, crawling back desperate for attention like a needy child armed with AI to draft gaslighting responses, never actually backing anything up. However, if you actually mean it, please let the door hit you on the way out. Posters much more patient than myself have spent too much time trying to help you get a grip on things.*

Edit - *Including one just above. Despicable is a solid choice of words.

That assumes you have role models and elders around.
One of the central themes within county lines gangs is that you can do your low and medium level stuff, then come out higher up the pecking order - sold the idea of riches. Do a bit of bird, come out and get the next lot to do it for you - you still get bank, but they get nicked.
If you get born into poverty, that becomes very attractive at a young age - and once you are in, you are in, and it's very hard to break that cycle.

Count yourself lucky you were able to make that choice and able to make it without consequences for and your family.

Are you really suggesting that a 10 year old that's groomed to run some drugs isn't a victim as well as a criminal?

You miss my point. The gangs will be your role models. Unless they are punished.
I believe in rehabilitation as well. With proper apprenticeships. Also that work should pay well enough that it ir rewarding.
At the moment the system is fudged. People are better off claiming benefits than doing some jobs. Prison is a fudging holiday camp. You can work your whole life just to keep a roof over your head and food on the table and have nothing at the end.
There needs to be stick and carrot. At the moment there is none.

I'd argue they are solely a victim.

I agree 100%. BTW, I also agree on not using the phrase 'struggle cuddle' being used instead of the word 'r a p e'...I actually did not know the phrase.

I agree with you. And it feels like we all get there frequently on this forum. In fact, far, far more frequently than most others.

You miss the point entirely. This is about one individual and their posting patterns. The far right are obsessed with Muslim grooming gangs but white men make the majority (% wise) of grooming cases. They don't seem to care as ouch if at all.
There isn't actually reliable data on ethnicity and CSE cases - which is something the report today states and there has now been a direction from the home secretary to Police Forces to report on ethnicity in all CSE cases. Not something I agree with. Just more work for police forces to serve political interests. Ethnicity is irrelevant to a criminal investigation. Culture may be relevant to things like motive, opportunity and things but culture is different to ethnicity:

These photos all feature British Pakistani girls, I.e. the ethnicity is the same, but cultural and religious influences here vary widely.....

Not sure where you got your stats from @LutonSpurs i know it says office for national statistics but seems to originate from twitter. Also the office for national statistics don't do their tables in pink as far as i can tell.
As that report says 2/3 of grooming gang ethnicity is not recorded. Why that is the case i'm not sure.
