Planes, Trains And Automobiles - We're Going To Bilbao

The best option now (price wise and reliability) is either boat to France (from Portsmouth) then it's a 9 hour drive (in your own car).

Less chance of being fudged over by airports on multiple flights.
Plenty of cost sharing. And the foods great on the way:)

With a couple of people splitting driving I think that's a great way if you can spare the time...

Flight to Barcelona on Tuesday
Drive up Wednesday morning
Direct flight back to London on Thursday

Sorted that yesterday. Return flight was a killer but I'm self employed so coming back on the Friday made any savings on the cost of a flight by staying out there longer a bit pointless.

One of my pals is driving from London to Biarritz
His very wealthy boss owns a summer house there, he is spending a couplle of days there before driving to Bilbao
Hotel has been booked in Bilbao for a few months now
Making a week of it, very nice indeed

Was on a meeting yesterday and BA are going to announce 8 more flights from London

Madrid from London on BA has good availability on the 20th and its a 3 hour train journey up

Bordeaux is wide open from Gatwick at the moment on easyjet on the 20th

You can get a ferry direct to Bilbao from Portsmouth but the round trip takes 4/5 days it's a good trip like a mini cruise, I've done it a few times just a half hour drive to centre of town.

Bilbao down to Madrid for the CL final was more like 6 hours

All flights sorted. Just need a car and one more night in Barcelona on Thursday.Booked flights from Norway for the Brighton game months ago, but will be going straight from Spain instead. I've spent all day figuring out the logistics and trying to get people to commit to going or not, while also trying to work after not sleeping much at all.
Its tough when not every has the same 'energy' as you when it comes to these moments.
I get everyones circumstances are different BUT all I'm thinking is 'i wouldn't miss it for the world' ...it's such a rare occurrence and surely the conclusion of all the blood sweat and tears we put into supporting this club.

It's £200 for a foot passenger on the Sunday night ferry out of Portsmouth...gets to Bilbao 8 am Tuesday morning. Of course you then need Tuesday night accommodation.

It is a bit like a mini cruise, HOWEVER the enjoyment is governed by how the bay of Biscay is feeling.:)
