***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur v Bodø/Glimt*** Europa League Semi-Final Second-Leg Thursday May 8th, KO 8pm

Should we be a little worried about United? Seemed to have picked up a bit of form in this competition and have comfortably beaten opposition much better than the one we faced last night?

When playing another English team I'm more concerned with their domestic form than European - they knocked Arsenal out the FA Cup, still have some big game players and have a history of winning as a club even when not particularly great - all of that concerns me more than how they played against Lyon & Bilbao

There is another factor here and that is UEFA and the referees. There will be the normal obsession with keeping 22 players on the pitch for a showpiece final and blatant yellows won't be given. Bruno Fernandez will push every button going and get away with it. It won't be like the league game where he got his marching orders after several seasons of getting away with it.

It will be more like the FA Cup semi-final against Jose's Utd where Antonio Valencia should have left the field of play in the first half. We should have strolled that semi-final and were more than good enough under Poch to pick up the FA Cup that season. I've never forgiven Antony Taylor for sheer incompetence.

Spurs will need to be streetwise in the final.

We've 3 South Americans down our spine. We can do streetwise.

Yesterday was as streetwise as I've ever seen! If I didn't know, I'd think we were an Italian team! Running down the clock from literally kick off, going long, making the game scrappy, getting throw ins, playing for free kicks. It was beautiful how we just completely strangled the game!
I am sure yesterday was the earliest I have ever seen a goalkeeper get warned for time wasting - around 7 minutes I think it was! :)

We knocked them out of the league cup
Lyon they were very lucky playing against ten men and had a dodgy penalty
They played ten men last week 2 don’t forget (although the penalty and red was right imo)

People appears to be missing the fact that in the league, I don’t think we’ve put out as strongest 11 since Liverpool in the cup?. United appeared to be playing the best 11 available every week and I still in the position they are happy to be corrected on the United situation.

Utd are playing a system that doesn't suit the personnel they have. Amorim with a summer clear out and some new blood signed in the image he wants to play, may start to make progress next season, but if you watch the way they play there is a mistake in their backline, they aren't mobile enough in the middle of the park, and up top they lack a genuine goalscorer.

They are always going to be able to scrap and try to grind out a result, but if we press like we can, I don't think utd have the ability in the ball to keep hold of it. We will need to take our chances and once again defend well.

It's all about mentality for me
Like it or not they are mentality monsters
Woeful for years but have still won a trophy most years
If, we can not be weak mentally and defend in any way like we have in the last three EL games we will prevail

Incredible number of throw ins.

My perspective is we need to be tactically smart, United prefer to counter, if you give them the ball, and keep them infront of you, they can be toothless.

I don't see them as mentality monsters, I see them as a group of mercenaries with zero connection to the club/badge, who motivate themselves only for certain occasions with one player in particular (Bruno) who can change games.

You can overrun their midfield and their backline is slow, but you have to defend well.

A question for @Kandi1977 , @Robbo, @Jordinho and any other who know a decent amount about Bodo: was how they played how they normally do?
They seemed to be slower in their build-up than i had thought...or was that us keeping a lower line and having more respect perhaps than other European sides who've gone there in the last couple of years?
