Maybe it wasn’t him and it’s the highest paid players who are failing
Id love to know who we can attract to the club by playing more when they know we aren’t a club who win things

Ermm if you don't remember I told you in the summer that I didn't think any of the existing front 3 were good enough. Whilst any of them are starting we have problems.

If you offer big enough wages you can attract pretty much anyone.
 
We need a mix. We used to go out and buy a waddle, lineker, ardiles, klinnsmann. Mix that with the bales, walkers, carricks. We'd be up there.
I've not been excited about a player we've bought for a long time.

You have to offer wages we can’t afford to get anyone.
We can’t do that as we don’t have enough money or cash or headroom in monetary terms
People think we’re rich when we’re just big

Tbh I'm not even saying we should offer those kind of wages but it's just to be clear that yes a higher calibre of player is achievable you just have to have the will or the means to get them.

There is of course the gamble side of things whereby if you do get a better quality of player they may be help the team achieve more. What I will say is the extra cautious approach we've tended to take doesn't work.

Thing is, we are pretty much the only big club that tries to keep our wage bill around about the 50-60% mark recommended, and we have a tonne of stadium financing to keep ticking over so right now our turnover isn't translated to purchasing and wage power in the market on a commensurate basis to, say, some of those other clubs.

It’s fudging daft and typical of how football gone and also Deloitte who do it to dabble in football
Barcelona are so rich they have to deregister players they can5 afford every window
 
Rich means money you have
If you have no money but lots of assets you have a high net worth
But in football terms it means fudge all of you don’t have money to spend
Should also add debt has a huge measure too

You realise our profits are hindered by the £70m of depreciation of the stadium every year and the amortisation of players?
We had the most cash in last years financials. So by your rules we were the richest.
If you are going by owners then saudi snd qatar wipes the floor with anyone.
